I'm not so convinced. He's decent, and has been so for a few years now for Leeds and West Ham. But his real purple patch only lasted a couple of months and when he returned from injury he reverted back decent. Not sure I'd drop big money for him.

I don’t get the enthusiasm for Curtis Jones. I have the same feeling I had when Edu signed Luiz and Hutchinson last season. He’s not what we need, because we’re well stacked with attacking midfielders.
What we need is what Granit Xaka is to Sunderland i.e. authority, intelligence and quality.
Maybe Bergvall will become this but I don’t see it in Jones.

He's primarily a No8 rather than an attacking midfielder. Jones doesn't come with the injury issues that Luiz had and he's played over 150 games in the PL which is significantly more than Hutchinson.

Yeah I think they had issues. I think Ange’s methods got the blame in his tenure because it was relentless, a bit like Bielsa at Leeds.
Then last year having different managers and a switch in training methods three times got blamed. There must be something underlying as they have had two years of bad injuries.

I actually had a look to see if they sold anyone with a terrible injury record in the last few seasons & it got better but my god they are so bad as selling players.
If we buy Bergvall, he will be pretty much the only non-academy player they have sold for a profit for the past 3-4 years. Man United are similar in that regard, people moan about City & Chelsea's spending but they are constantly selling players, often for a profit. Man Utd & Spurs are rubbish at it. It's an underrated part of recruitment, something we are very good at.
