Never heard of him but looks a decent stopgap move. 22 yo, Germany U21 international, played plenty of Bundesliga for his age. Decent size, left footed.

If he is utterly shit, we can flip him back to Germany in the summer for a small profit.

edit - was linked with Spurs, Milan and Lazio earlier this month, so there is a chance he might actually be a decent player

edit edit - he is better going forward than defensively apparently. A good dribbler but not great 1 on 1 or in the air. Most sites have his value somewhere around 6m euro though, so 2.5m is not a bad price.

I like this suggested signing - he’s a decent player, has appeared over 100 times for Die Fohlen scoring once (yes, against VfB Stuttgart).

He’s fairly tall for a full back, and likes a tackle and has a decent cross on him.

I can't publish anything from Wyscout and this is the only public footage I can find. It's 3 years old and he was 19 then so worth bearing that in mind.

Apparently he was a very good prospect when in his teens and was nailed on to be a full German international.

Played regularly under a few managers (including Daniel Farke) but a change of manager saw his form dip and he has been in and out of the team recently. Used to be a threat going forwards and carrying the ball, although has not been as effective at this recently, I read.

I don't mind this move. I said on another thread a while back that we don't have to try and moneyball £30m signings everywhere and hope they become monsters like Murillo and Ando. Nothing wrong with either a steady eddy type (whose values seem to drop sharply once there is little hope of resale value) or a young player that has room to improve. This lad would fit into the second category and will probably be happy to bide his time behind Neco anyway.

Similar kind of move to Savona - potential for growth but probably still plenty of market to sell back to if he flops.

Just looked up his stats for this season so far: 15 appearances for Gladbach, he’s provided two assists, made 70 tackles, won 12 aerial duels, had two shots at goal (both on target), he’s only committed seven fouls and has been booked only once.

And Die Fohlen aren’t having the best season (they currently sit in twelfth in the Bundesliga).

100 appearances in any league at his age is great but in a top league like the Bundesliga is really impressive. We know who our starters are but having a lad like this as backup is ideal. So much better going for someone like this than someone like Gosens at 31 and on huge wages with dodgy hammys. More of this type please Forest.
