Hate to ask but, what's Twitter?

It's like public text messaging about what you're up to.

It's basically a mechanism to stalk Stephen Fry.

Is it just me or is it abit crap ?

I was expecting when it said you can follow people that you could actually follow them about their daily lives. Watching Beyonce getting changed and such.

Extremely disappointed.

I signed up, purely to nab the name 'tutts' in case it becomes big.

And some f***ers already taken it.

I admit I'm not entirely convinced by the usefulness of Twitter for average people. But it's another way of whoring LTLF out to the world so I'm prepared to give it a go 8)

Has the whole problem as of late not been that there has been to much activity on the forum for it's own good ? And now its being spread furthermore throughout the web ?

Or is this new server capable of taking over the world and picking up a few extra hitch hikers on the way ?

It isn't really geared up to use the website - it's designed for mobile updates.

On your desktop get something like Twitterfox or Tweetdeck - much better :)

Yes, but the idea is more to promote the content site rather than the forum. Now we're not likely to break if more than two people look at the site at once, it's in our interest to get as many people looking at the site as possible (and eventually take over the world).

I meant just the general idea of it really. Although that Twitterfox looks like a useful add-on.

Suppose it's alright for stalking random celebrities though. :D

Actually, Cheryl Cole is on it!!

Twitter is now the greatest invention in the history of mankind.

lol

It is good, it's over-simple at first (particularly if you're a Facebook user), but over-simple is good just for quick updates :)

Are these celebrities on it actually them ?

Or just some person acting as them ?

Or just a mystery that none off us really know but just feel comfortable in the thought that it's really them and that we are stalking real celebrities all bit it poor ones ?

Some are fake, some are real.

Stephen Fry is real and quite interesting (arf).

I imagine some have 'people' to update for them.

I'm currently following Fry, Robert Llewellyn, Neil Gaiman and James May from celebdom. Oh, and Ewan Macgregor and John Cleese neither of whom update much. And Elijah Wood who is boring.
