[LTLF] LTLF links up with The Globe

The only problem I see with this is that is becomes a bit of an exclusive club only for full members of the forum.
Didn't think that what is was all about?

It's not trying to exclude people, it's trying to help raise money for the forum so it can remain open for everyone.

Exactly right. We need to firm up details but some kind of guest-system needs to work too, as obviously people meet up with folks who may not want to register/subscribe full time to the forum. Of course, they could still subscribe for the card alone, or we'd work out some kind of one-time-only subs system. Not sure.

It's an attempt to reward folks for supporting the forum with something more than a warm fuzzy feeling - a less crowded drinking environment with reasonable prices (the two biggest criticisms of Amici last year), it's good from that point of view, and obviously for the Globe it guarantees them a degree of business.

The supporters club let in members for free, if you're not a member it's a quid.

I think doing this would be the best way forward but you can only come in with a member to stop the place getting packed out and thus defeating the object. Also stops away fans coming in unless obviously they subscribe on here so we know that we can cope with them.

I think that will pretty much be the operating model :) We just need to sort out the logistics.

I trust it's all in hand with the relevant powers that be.

They're all fantastic and I applaud them for their great effort. I know they'd never do anything like edit one of my posts in a quote to make me look bad.

And after what I said about you.

Can't believe you just did that.

The Supporters Club don't charge anything for entry in to The Globe, the idea is that people with children can use the room upstairs as somewhere to go on a match day, as there is nowhere else for them to go!

When did they stop?

They used to charge non members a quid. I always just signed a flase name because I wasn't a member and am a cheap bastard.

Are you sure you're not talking about The Brit or The Boat Club? The only time we have charged entry upstairs in The Globe has been if it has been a special event, i.e. 'end of season do' or 'xmas do', but we have never asked anybody to sign anything either.

If I bring someone with me to a Forest match do they have to stand outside the Globe if they are not a member?

What if I go with the same person all the time (my sister)? She won't want to pay £1 every time and at the moment can't really afford to come out for my birthday so will probably not see LTLF membership as a priority.

I'm not having a go and I don't know how else it will work but at the moment, I can see some major opposition from her so I might not be able to go there very often.

No, The Globe is a pub, and although the door staff may ask to see a home match ticket (especially during the busier periods), you can still go in to the pub.

Any guest stylee thing would have to be on-the-day only otherwise it's too confusing to administer.

£10 for limitless access over a season is hardly a debt-inducing investment, particularly if you consider the drinks are better priced than Amici (and better full stop!) and the comfort-factor should be better as it won't be crowded.

We're only talking about the upstairs room... as noted in numerous posts above, we need to firm up some kind of guest-system that is workable.

I will happily sign up for one of these membership card thingys.

However, by signing up, I don't mean I am going to go using some online registration nonsence, I will try and twist Winnits' arm into letting me just give him the money down at Powerleague.

I think this is an absolutely terrific idea.

It's on London Road, the road which Trent Bridge turns into as you head into Nottingham :)

But it will be crowded, especially when we play Newcastle, Derby and Leicester, and the crowds at Forest rise towards the end of the season. I'm confused as to how upstairs would be exclusive to LTLF only, because when The Globe gets packed, they need upstairs to act as a release for downstairs.

My understanding is that's the agreement we have in place with the proprietor - I'm not being evasive, I just wasn't involved directly in discussions when setting it up.

On the left, just after Meadow Lane (the road).

I'm not disagreeing with you on the £10 front. I've already paid £10 towards the server and I was perfectly happy to pay that but I can just see my sister not being happy to shell out £10 up front for a forum that she doesn't have any involvement with.

Hopefully I'm wrong and the cheaper drinks (how does they compare to the TBI since that's where we usually went last season?) and easier access to the bar will persuade her though.
