Football League Announce New Regulations


The football league have announced new regulations regarding financial issues as well as the much debated amount of substitutes.

The football league official press-release reads as follows;
At their Annual General Meeting, Football League clubs have voted to introduce new financial regulations relating to tax payments.

No wonder my post count..
7 subs haha. I don't think back in Febuary we even had that amount of fit players!

Plus, I imagine Burnley would be at a bit of a disadvantage too.

Why would you want 7 subs? Stupid idea. Should go back to three.

You can only use seven. I think it's a good thing personally. It's been this way on the continent for a while, and the premiership as well now. It just means that there are more options on your bench, and allows more people a chance to get involved.

Just feels like more bet-hedging to me.

Part of the skill of a manager is his bench selection, with seven options you basicaly would have to be a complete spanner to not account for any eventuality.

Yeah, I can see your argument. Personally, I like the idea of increasing bench sizes as it increases the exposure of young players, and potentially game time if they are the only specialist to replace an injured player etc. But, there's definitely arguments both ways.

It could be good for young players able to come on when a game is already in the bag. But smacks of desparation by the wooly befreinders.

Still rules out P***t as a manager option though.

Aye, I hadn't thought about the increased opportunities for younger players to get a run out, that's a good shout in its favour.
