Also at Pride Park they have recreated the old entrance from the Baseball Ground which i thought was a nice touch of mixing the old with the new.

Having visited & photographing the De*by effort , and passing ours yesterday in Nottingham , we all agreed that ours would have had a more imposing presence had it have been a lot higher than @ ground level !

But owts better than nowt.

Ours is better & 1st.

Boro's was first... our statue isn't at ground level, it's about 3 feet off the ground

I expect the Derby statue is on a pedastal so that you can see it even when matchday crowds are passing by, where as the Nottingham city centre statue never gets so busy you can't get close-up.

It's a very nice touch putting about the European Cups and the City Ground

In fairness, there was barely a immovable crowd there for the unveiling which was immediately before a match, so I can't think it would ever get that crowded to require elevating that high.

Having said that the plinth arrangement is ace, it's just not my preference.

There is a massive hint of Morecambe and Wise to it, I'm not sure it was intentional - but for me it adds to the charm!
