Clough, McGovern and Pearce would never have stood for Chelsea disgrace

Chelsea were hard done by last night by anyone’s standards. Their game plan worked like a dream, albeit one of those dreams where nothing much happens and you become trapped in a tedious loop. But if you’re up against the most fearsome strike force in Europe I guess that’s what you have to do, so [...]

Chelsea didn't cover themselves in glory, but Guardiola's touch line sprint was equally as odious.

If Forest ever go down the Chelsea route and try to buy success at all costs, that's the time I'll pack in watching Forest. Huge sums of money has meant that they have a team of prostitutes. They play for personal glory and it wouldn't matter who they were playing for. The guff from a so-called Chelsea fan who admires the team for showing spirit and passion wants to have a reality check. All their stars will be kissing the Chelsea badge one minute and that of another (higher-wage-paying) team the next. Chelsea have had the soul sucked out of them.

Forest would never have stooped so low in the past. We've still got some scruples now - the reaction to Wilson's sending off at the Blunts shows it (he became as popular as a one legged man in an arse-kicking contest almost overnight). We can get there without resorting to nastiness. We needed a little bit of Davies' nouse to stay up but let's remember to play football, not resort to gamesmanship. Don't let us make Cloughie turn in his grave.
