Fook Billy , what about us fans that support the club season after season and for what, to be totally dismissed and treated with contempt by the board that run the club, time and time again we are led up the garden path of false promises , secrecy and lies.

Why doesn’t the club tell us the truth for once it’s not as if we are giving away secret military positions or a top secret formula , it’s not life or death, it’s just a game of football ffs .

I want the truth and some signings in return I pay for my season ticket and show support, is that much to ask for!

The board have no obligation to tell you what is happening just as you have no obligation to buy a season ticket. You are not a shareholder you are merely an interested outsider - it is Nigel Doughty's money and he can run the club how he sees fit.

What do you want then? The board to say at the start of the summer "well, we want high profile players, but we're not paying much for them, here's a list of who we're really after so our rivals can chase them".

I'm sure they're not playing their cards close to their chests just to be ****s to the fans you know. Think it through carefully, how would you play this game if you were them?

No-one has insulted you as far as I can see. I am merely saying that we have no rights other than the right to withold our support. The investment I have made in my 40 years of supporting the club pales into insignificance compared to the almost £40 million Nigel Doughty has invested. I just believe that having made that investment he has the right to run the club as he sees fit.

I am as frustrated as anyone at the apparent lack of activity and the obvious lack of communication but I don't think that Forest fans are alone in this - most clubs don't inform their fans of anything until the last minute.

I hear what your saying and I do agree, but in this day and age is a good policy to play it this way, are the club risking the long term future of the fans support, I mean how many more lies and false promises are we going to take before something is said and done about it “are you serious about promotion”

If the club are going to continue to act in this manner and deny the fans information why do they employ a press officer? What’s the point?

We must be the stupid ones to keep putting up with it season after season , a little communication wouldn’t hurt anyone and it would probably raise their profile a lot more with the fans.

I’m not asking them to give away all their financial business and who the tea lady is, just a little info on what they are trying to do instead of creating a situation for fans to continually make up and falsify stories that have no factual evidence attached to them and in turn pisses every body off.

I wonder if Nigel treats his hedge fund investors the same way. I can't believe that this is how he runs a business. If I had invested in one of his hedge funds I'd want to know exactly what was going on, and I imagine there are lines of communication designed to enable me to know what was going on.

At Forest, they don't need to tell us that they are bidding x amount for Shorey or whoever. What they do need to do is reassure the supporters that they are seeking to buy players, that they are in negotiations and that they actively trying to do something.

I appreciate that many will respond with 'well, what do you think they're doing?', and that's valid, however, at this moment in time they are perceived to be doing nothing which breeds rumours and and mistrust. They forget that we have been through this so much in the past that mistrust is our default and trust needs to be built. Why has Mark Arthur not put one article on the website saying 'we're trying to sign someone'?

It's no wonder that people believe the club are doing nothing, that is exactly the impression they're giving.

As forest supporters we're bound to be suspicious of the board due to past incompetence.

I've never been able to reconcile with this business like approach to forest and modern football in general.

Its probably just because I was kid, but in the late 80'/early 90's the club felt like it was much more open. Incompetent and comedic, but open.

Now, forest just feels like a business who only make noise when its related to making money.

That is exactly what it is though, a business and I understand that, but I think its the same for football in general- as much as I love my football club it just doesnt seem to have that connection it once had.
I dont really feel like part of the club as I did when I was younger, just a paying customer rushed in and out the gates as quickly as possible.

Im sure they arent trying to make it like that on purpose, but it does feel like that.

Football is an interesting business, your service can be as shit as physically possible but there will always be a large number of gullible fools like us who will continue to buy into it regardless.

On topic, I agree with Rich (wait, what?!) - It's not the lack of signings or air of progression that bothers me, it's the lack of communication. A simple message on the official site saying "we're trying for some targets but having some setbacks" would go a long way. Hell, even saying "there will be no additions, our squad is fine" would be much better than silence.

A lot of clubs seem to forget , it's the paying fans the keep football alive without us you wouldn't have a football club, your paying to be entertained i know , but entertainment wouldn't exsist without the paying public.

Why do you think you are not being told the truth? All we have are rumours spread about by a bunch of tabloids who generate business from gossip, mistrust and rumour - where there is no story a newspaper will often create one. For all we know BD may well have told us 100% the truth. Personally I don't trust the guy, but I have no evidence or even a hint of a suggestion that we are being lied to.

People are getting really upset about signings, but I fail to see why we should sign for the sake of signing. Any signing that is brought in, whether that is loan or long term, has to improve upon what we already have. Would people prefer David Platt'esque signings? Remember that season full of over paid has beens?

I see the need to strengthen the squad, but I dont think we are weaker than last season. I think McCleary and Thornhill are a step closer to professional maturity, and so in my humble opinion the only areas we need to desperately strengthen are left-back and a centre-back.

But I'm just a girl, so what do I know hey

I know what the answer to that is........ don't go there, nobody is any better or less a supporter just because they don't get worked up over trivial matters.

I understand that the lack of information coming from the club can be frustrating, but how many times a week would you want to hear 'we are working on it', 'we have made enquiries', three, four, five, hell SEVEN days a week?
News will come when something worthy of news happens, period.

Some people are starting to give the impression club owes them something, it doesn't owe any one of us a damn thing.
My support doesn't come with conditions attached and neither should anyone else's.

Of course we're a business. The fact is that we pay players well and as fans, probably contribute through season tickets/match day tickets no more than half of the club's running costs. The rest of it comes from commercial activities AND Nigel Doughty.
I am fed up with not making signings but you foot-stampers must realise that the club will not sign players unless they will add to the quality of the squad. Because we are going for a certain quality of player, we must play a waiting game; these players have got agents who will tout them to other clubs and advise the player to come here or not. I know it is frustrating, but do we really want to make a load of non-league-type signings like Direby have? I still believe that we'll get some great players in, but hey, my glass is always half FULL.
