Lost/Mislaid/Stolen Season ticket

anyone had any experience dealing with Forest over mislaid season tickets??.

I can't find mine after Saturdays game so I am stuck in Stockport when I should be at the City Ground tonite. :weep: :weep: :weep:

Called the ticket office and the lady was pretty useless so I'm going to call again and speak to a manager. 21 years a season ticket holder and I'll be dammed if I am going to fork out full price to replace it.

They say its non refundable and they also state they wont replace lost or stolen season tickets, theyadvise you get it insured on your home contents or suchlike, i fear you wont get any joy what so ever from Forest. :(

Probably a good thing you missed tonight's game.

Forest, unlikely every other club in the Championship, will gleefully make you pay for the season ticket again minus the games that have already passed. Ray Von is right in that they advise you get the ticket covered on your home contents insurance because of this.

Other clubs (Derby included) will reissue a season ticket book for a reasonable admin fee.

No wonder my post count..
I was going to make a Bryan Gunn related joke here, but it really is a serious predicament - it must be awful losing hundreds of pounds.

Hope you find it mate :console:

In the real world - Its simple.

You have purchased a seat in the stadium. If anybody else sits in that seat - they need a tap on the shoulder and a quiet word.

Unfortunately we are talking about Nottingham Forest here. Because of their sheer incompetence and inadequate procedures backed up with total buffoons for stewards they take the easy approach of hiding behind fraudulent legislation that would be torn apart by an decent solicitor.

Try and buy your seat for an individual game? If they say its taken etc - There is a starting point for a tasty argument?

An administration fee for replacement is fair - Total ignorance to the issue is just terrible customer service and arrogance!

Agree with Kilburn on this totally.

The only reason I researched it was because when my brother was travelling I had his season ticket and thought I'd lost it - so was starting to work out what I needed to do to replace it.

I was flabbergasted that (this was quite early into the season) I would pretty much have to buy a new season ticket if it was lost rather than pay a £20-30 fee to just get a new one. I couldn't find another club at our level who had the same policy, and found plenty that did replace the booklet for a reasonable administration fee.

I know this sounds stupid but how was the season ticket bought and payed for? if it was payed for by credit card will they not cover it? if it was bought online and posted to you can you not claim you havent received it? a little wight lie I know but if it gets a replacement then spot on

The credit card thing is interesting - because Forest CLAIM to not receive the cash in full, but in a 'drip feed' form, so presumably they could cancel that 'drip feed' upon reporting the ticket lost/stolen? :p

It's basically just them being robbing bastards as far as I can tell.

has anyone actualy tried to get a season ticket covered on the contents insurance? surely it would be a waste of time due to the excess most companys would chuck on becuase the ticket is taken out of the home with you during games?

I must admit I haven't. Forest do stipulate on their smallprint that you should specify this with your insurance company etc, blah blah.

best not chuck mine in temper again then lol.

I realy am shocked there is nothing they can do other than make you buy another one, which in theory how the hell can they re-sell you a seat you already own??? or would new ticket be elsewhere

Just chucking this one out there too, but If I had come across the season ticket..

I'd allow you to throw me off Lady Bay for being stupid enough to sit in the correct seat.

It is a real f***ing shitter.. I feel for you, your situation is worse than mine, I can;t afford a season ticket, but you have to buy a 2nd one!

In fairness he could have lost it someway that really couldn't be helped. Is it too painful for me to ask how it was lost?

Thanks for all the concern everyone.

it was lost somewhere in transit between Nottingham and Stockport over the weeked. I have had a ST for 21 years and never lost or misplaced one. Daft it may have been but it can happen to the best of us. I have no qualm about paying an admin fee to cover the price of a re-issue but to pay double doesn't do much for customer loyalty. Especially as the cost to support Forest also includes a 4 hour round trip and the expenses that incurs plus wangling time off work to travel to midweek games.

The card was paid for on debit card rather than credit so I may not even be covered there. I don't pay on credit card simply due to the additional charges they apply.

With a £150 excess on the insurance and the fact that they will probably hike next years renewal price for the claim then it's not exactly helping, even if it was covered. A better option may be to take the club through the small claims court.

Anyway I'll bell them today to see what can be done.

It's a shame they can't offer season tickets out like clubcards, like you get a normal ticket and then some kind of keyfob.

Is it obvious I've never bought a season ticket in my life?

Really can empathise with how you are feeling as I thought I was in the same boat last season.

Are you certain it was lost in transit and it's not in your house somewhere? Beyond that, I think you're right that you should get in contact with the club - do the rounds of other Championship clubs and make a note of their policy regarding this. It might help your case.

It's true that Forest do - for their sins - make their policy clear in their terms and conditions, so we do all sign up to them when buying a season ticket, but perhaps by pointing out how absurd their policy is in comparison with their competitive peer group might make them relent slightly.1

How do you get from Stockport to Nottingham?

If it's by car check under the seats and car mats as no end of times have I gone to sit down in my car only to find something slide out my pocket.

It happens getting in and out of the car too, so it might of dropped out where you parked your car. In the new season tickets doesn't it have your address inside it? Maybe some kind soul will post it back to you.

At Derby if you lose/forget a season ticket you can go to the ticket office on the day of the game and get a single ticket in that seat. If then the season ticket shows up in their records you have to pay for that single ticket again. It's also pretty easy to get a replacement if it's been lost/stolen/defaced, free if stolen with a police crime number or otherwise around £20. For that you get it completely re-issued.

I'm sure Forest will do something along those lines if you keep harassing them, they're not out there to rip anyone off!

Get on the phone to trading standards they will be very interested to hear your case. Also write to Mr doughty himself then you have asked the club direct which covers you. Trading standards will have to make sure that there policy is legal regardless of what they put on the ticket.

I lost mine in 1989 a standing ticket ( got stolen from my car). This ticket then allowed me to stand in the trent end or Bridgeford end (£100 then) . I never got a replacement I had to buy on a match to match basis but the club took my word and then allowed me the same priority as season ticket holders like away match tickets first and Wembley etc ( doubt we will get there again!!).

Please dont give up the fight and threaten legal action. Also try a solicitor for some legal advice. You have until the next home match so hurry up.

Good luck - - This club does not look after the fans at all and there werent many there last night.

sorry to hear you've lost your ticket, i hope it turns up.
I however can understand Forests stand on this. If it was simply a case of paying a £20 admin fee you would get people buying a season ticket claiming to have lost it at the first match, getting it replaced then selling the 'lost' season ticket on.
You could then simply use your replaced season ticket as normal, stay downstairs till kick off n then jump in an empty seat.

this is a good reason why some prem clubs n new grounds  have electronic ticket gates, that way you get a credit card like season ticket which is harder to loose in the first place and can simply be canceled and replaced thus preventing the club loosing alot of revenue, pissing of loyal fans such as yourself as well as potential safety problems at sold out matches .

iv used this system alot at sheffield untd matches and it works well. Perhaps it wouldn't be the most popular move in the current climate but the money saved from employing people to sit on the gates collecting pieces of paper would mean the installation costs could be recooped within a few years.
