Are you actually saying Johnson (who scored 8 goals for us in the PL) is worse than Bakwa or Ndoye?

The fact that Davis and Surridge are not playing currently in the Championship is irrelevant

They would both score more goals in the PL that Lucca would. In my opinion.
You changed the goalposts, that wasn't the point that you made at all, which is why you edited it out my post

And I think Johnson is more established at this level than those two, I think those two will offer more or similar when they are established too, especially Bakwa.

Lucca, I don't care to defend because I have seen nothing from him.

Disagree

Harewood got promoted with West Ham and played most matches the first season after and got 14 goals. He was then a PL player for them the season after and 2 for Villa and got 16 in 5 for Blackpool in 2010-11.

Earnshaw got 11 in 31 for WBA in 04-5 which was the year they stayed up after Ginger Gary left.

Antonio, I assume is the one.
Agreed-I don’t think Harewood and Earnshaw were necessarily truly Premier League players but they were genuine
central strikers which Ndoye and Bakwa aren’t (I think we all agree Lucca isn’t going to cut the mustard).

I can’t understand why we filled the squad with wingers without addressing the central striker position (Wood was
never going to have the same season and Awoniyi is sadly virtually finished).

Also we are short of genuine quality backup at centre-half.

I didnt edit anything out your post what are you talking about?

Sooo, out of those three you think two might be okay in the future and one is probably shit. How is that disproving my point?!

Literally ALL of them. They are not on the same level.

You are also judging them all on small sample sizes playing at the highest level, the two wingers in particular will get better with confidence & patience.

You clearly have forgotten the difference between the divisions.
I was just saying this. The gap in quality is a chasm, we shouldn’t underestimate what having an extra second or two provides in terms of chances, wider opportunities in the championship. The reason we have them is because of the expectation they can make it in the prem, not the championship

Does anyone know why he wasn’t in the squad today?

Feel a little bit for him. I get that he hasn’t looked particularly good so far but neither have a lot of players this season some of which have put in worst performances than that as well and fan booing him after like 120 minutes ish of football doesn’t help anyone. In that time he has scored half the amount of prem goal Jesus has… clearly he is a different style of striker to Jesus which is going to take time for teammates to adjust to.

Resting him to start on Wednesday.

Don’t feel sorry for him, his attitude stinks. He is a bad egg.

Vitors words after the game with Col said everything "Taiwo was in the squad instead of Lucca because Taiwo is working hard in training, Lucca now needs to prove himself"

I hate the whole "i told you so" shit that we're all guilty of but back in Jan when we were linked with him i said that i had never seen such a deluge of Italian fans begging us to take him. Usually you get a couple of decent words about ability/form etc But every single tweet i saw was pleading for him to come here, and the amount of times i read about his arrogance, his lack of effort and general shite demeanour, it just seemed to be too bad to be true.

Every single one of them were right. Scouting is so sophisticated these days yet if so many people are mentioning a bad attitude trait (along with shite performances), isn't this supposed to ring a very loud alarm for our scouting department?

We really did press the nuclear button last summer and again in January. Lucca is just the latest symptom of a disease that has been riddling us for a long time now.

Send him back on the next flight to Naples and see if Origi is still farting about looking for a club, tell him to bring his boots - he could do no worst than this plank.

The thing about the “told you so” / “should have listened to the Napoli fans” / “they warned us” stuff is that it doesn’t make the blindest bit of difference. He still gets signed.

Ok fair enough, I didn’t listen the post match interview. As usually after a loss I just can’t be bothered..

Regardless the bad egg/attitude thing, really?
He’s been here a few weeks and his attitude is that bad that his teammate apparently don’t want to pass to him? If his attitude is that bad someone senior/family member needs to sit him down and have a serious chat with him otherwise he won’t be a professional footballer much longer. I’m sure there Should be enough egos within the squad to knock him down a peg or two if that is what’s needed…
I wouldnt take any notice as to what any opposition fans say about any leaving player..
I remember Sheffield Wednesday slagging off Antonio when we signed him. Look at what Newcastle fans say about Elanga yet we’d have him back in a heartbeat. Even Gibbs white loyalty/attitude was brought into question amongst our own fanbase when it appeared he was off to Tottenham in the summer. He’s currently one of 3-4 players in the squad that looks like he gives a shit..
And why is nobody questioning Bakwa’s attitude after his yet another less than professional display against Liverpool or is he still getting the low on confidence pass?

On the face of it however, it is looking like yet another poor signing which the owner needs to address before the summer.

What's the point keeping him , if his attitude stinks and he's not performing in training , and we aren't going to buy him ? He'll just be a bad egg to have around with the rest of the squad and will keep morale down.

Let him train with the B Team if we can't ship him out, and swap him with an academy player who is performing well.

I remember watching Silenzi in the reserves as a teenager and he was still rubbish.

Let’s just hope we somehow squeeze through to safety, which would be completely undeserved following the absolute shitshow put on by the powers that be this season.

Complete reset needed in the summer, from top to bottom. Someone else pointed out on another thread, at least the half-hearted displays by some of our lot means I don’t give much of a shit in summer when any of the f*** off (Morgan aside).

Clearly there's more at play here with Lucca. What killed it for me with him was his effort was none existent, it's the same reason I wrote McAtee off. If the effort isn't there then you've got no base to build from.

In respect of Bakwa there was no issue with his efforts yesterday and I didn't see it as an attitude problem at all, quite the opposite. There was more an over-enthusiasm which he failed to control which led to him making brain dead decisions and fouling instead of standing the players up. Barring those I actually saw a bit more that I liked from him. He just needs a little word in his ear about controlling the temperament.

Yes, Bakwa was clearly trying too hard to make an impact. Not a surprise given we’re in March and he’s contributed bugger all. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t desperate to change this.

I was wondering with the agression if he was reacting to maybe the extra physicality of the Prem. A number of the newer players have been criticised as not being strong enough. I wondered if he had been and had tried upping his strength in tackles and had overdone it a little on Sunday
