Well worth the read. Lots of stuff I either didn't know or had forgotten. Particularly liked the Burns-Keegan intimidation.

There is a great photograph of the Forest Team celebrating with the Cup in the Changing room after the match

Everyone is in the photo except Brian

Everbody looks happy except Robertson who has a big scowl on his face and is looking elsewhere

Peter Taylor is at the front with a big grin on his face becasue he knows exactly what has just happened

Basically in the lead up to the match a local company Fossit and Thorne had been advertising a competition day in day out on Radio Trent where the winner would receive Robbos Shirt from the Cup Final

They had done a deal with Robbo prior to the match to buy the shirt off him for a significant amount of money

This advert had been running for weeks and at some stage Cloughie must have heard it

First thing Clougie does when Robbo takes his shirt off after the match is grab the shirt and tell Robbo "I'll be having that - thank you very much !" and walks off

The photo shows how Robbo feels about it and explains why the hero of the match is the only one not celebrating !

Typical Clough

Will try and find the photo because once you know the story and see the look on Robbos face it all makes sense

If you ever go in the Castle Club suite there is a huge photo of this on the wall near the stairs

I loved Kenny Burns, one of my all time footballing fav's, he was as hard as iron, yet could play the game as well. A devestating combination, Footballer of the year ( or similar ).

Smashing bloke and he still retains his affection for Forest and the fans.

Burns won sportswriters player of the year 1977/78

He played every match except one when we won the League

The reason he missed one match was he was collecting his player of the year award on the same night - Cloughie gave him the night off

When he played for Rangers youth team he set a record for being sent off three matches in a row

But the season we won the League despite his hard tackling, head butting and kicking people as he pretended to help them back to their feet - he only got one yellow card and that was for time wasting - he always apologised to the players he fouled in full earshot of the referees and he got away with a lot because cameras were not at every game like they are now

I have described before how he was caught on camera at highbury headbutting a player from behind who had the nerve to stand in front of him in a wall

His excuse for that was he "sneezed"

He also won an award in a National newspaper for best reason for a footballer injury

The reason:

He fell off a horse whilst drunk at a friends wedding

That could still win now.

Garry Birtles: Normally, I would have been right there with them. But I just had no energy. I ended up celebrating one of the greatest nights of my life playing 'Connect Four' with Peter Shilton.
