Long ball football?

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere and I've missed it, but has anyone else notice just how narrow our pitch is this season?

Alongside Wemberley, we used to be reverred for having one of the biggest pitches in the country at one point, on which we were able to play our divine form of Cloughesque football.

Despite the width of Jules, Anderson, Davies, Perch, Gunter & Tyson is King Billy now looking to make the midfield as tight as a nats chuff, and thus we move away from playing football the way it should be played when wearing the Garibaldi?

We played pretty nice stuff at times yesterday. We've been very vulnerable on our flanks for a number of years, could be a good move.

The pitch has been made smaller, from the max size... it's not a small, narrow pitch! It's average. Therefore, there is plenty of space and no more condusive to long ball than any other pitch in the country.

Not for a Forest winger, nor a supporter.

The ball went down the wing plenty last night, and we played some nice stuff. As a supporter I didn't feel like the narrower pitch had lessened my experience.

Fair enough, just thought it was notable.

This decision may have been taken due to us having the biggest pitch (115 x 78yrd) last season. I'm sure Lewis in particular will be thankful he has less blades of grass to cover, but I recall we were more inclined to catch the opposition out, than the other way round with so much space last season.

D***y, by the way, had the smallest pitch at our level at 105 x 68 yrd.

Small pitch = small minds.

:D Maybe.

I guess I'll notice more when I return to my regular seat - I was quite low down in the Main Stand yesterday so it wasn't really all that apparent.

Does anybody know how wide the pitch is now?

Are we talking narrow, or just not as wide as it was?
