Loans

First Team Squad
As it seems pretty clear that we will not get anyone in before the deadline today, looks like loans will bolster the squad if and when required. We had some excellent players come in on loan last season that helped us escape relegation.

It seems that the board may think loans represent an excellent option for us, as there is no commitment and they are flexible so dont leave us in the finacial pickle if we dont go up.

I think it makes more sense than paying over the odds during this farce of a transfer window anyway!

Glad we are seeing sense!! if the reported is true who would really want to see us pay money like 3 million for pratley? we are already exceeding all expectations thus far this season im sure that if we dont sign anyone then loans will come in!! Lets be thankful for the fact we are sitting second in the league on merit, this squad has got us there, are we really that desperate for more players!! calm down!! its only a transfer window!!

Surely it works both ways though? We could loan players that become an integral part of the team that then f*** off at the end of the season for a better offer

we do run that risk but then so do most teams in this league!! looking at who newcastle are signing with the likes of ambrose and routledge i cant say id put either of them in our first 11 ahead of the likes of cohen or anderson!! its gotta be abt quality and if we are going to sign players theyneed to be truly adding to this team or whats the point?

But isn't that what a loan move is about from the loanee's point of view, to put themselves in the shop window, therefore performing whilst on loan with another club.

Then it's just up to the club to secure the deal if he turns out to be any good.

There has only ever been 1 player that I have been interest in, and that’s Mr Shorey!

From what I've have heard, We've pretty much agreed a loan deal till the end of the season, providing no one from the prem signs him on a permanent. MON needs the money, and Shorey didn't want to commit to us while there is still a chance we might not go up. So we reached a stale mate!

The only reason I am keeping my eye on things today is to make sure Shorey is still a villa player after 5pm!

It was always going to be about the loan market for us. Why pay over the odds for sub standard players. It’s great that we got involved with the Mosses saga, and I’m sure we were pretty serious, but he was always going to go to a prem team.

Agreed, Shorey is a top player, but I fear he may be sold to another PL side, probably Fulham today.

I always thought we were punching above out weight with him really. :(

If Shorey is still a Villa player after 5pm then he wont be coming on loan to us for more than a month.

The original post only stated the benefits on our part though
