Hi guys, I've only just signed up to LTLF to give you some good news.
I am a friend of David Pleat (not a lady of the night) and after hearing so much about how disappointed you all were after see no January signings i thought i would share some news with you.
Loan signings are on the way although it may take a couple of weeks before any arrive.
The first one you won't be surprised to hear is Gary McSheffrey. This deal is already done but he won't be arriving until next week as he would not be allowed to play in next weeks game against Birmingham anyway. This should be a loan with a view to a permanent deal & a fee is already agreed.
A deal for Lee Camp is still on the cards too but may not come off as Forest only want a 3 month loan deal & will look into a permanent signing in the summer but QPR want a fee to be agreed straight away. Even if the clubs can agree on terms QPR will not allow the deal to go through until Radek Cerny is back in the first team and is fully fit. This could take up to 2 - 4 weeks for them to be satisfied with his fitness so Forest may pull out because they believe they are making progress with Smith anyway.
Forest are also trying to bring in Lee Croft on loan until the end of the season when his contract expires & then sign him permanently, Norwich want a larger loan fee for him than Forest are willing to pay so this may have to wait until the end of the season.
Forest are also trying to make another loan bid with a view to a permanent signing for Wolves striker Andy Keogh who has asked for a transfer away from them after constant crown abuse in the West Midlands. Wolves are interested in the deal but the problem lies in convincing Keogh to swap a promotion push for a relegation scrap.
Also, don't be surprised to see an offer go in for Gary Glen, an 18 year old striker from Hearts. He may be an unknown but Billy Davies has apparently seen him early in January (while he was watching Rob Jones for Hibernian & Andrew Driver for Hearts) where he came on as a sub & scored. He is one for the future though.
Rob Jones will not be joining Forest until at least the summer. Hibernian will not allow him to leave.
You should see some activity by the middle of next week
