I don't really mind if they have a burger after a game.

It's once a week, if that.

It's not like that one burger is going to upset the way the play the week after.

It's if they have one three times a week that matters.

For the time being, as long as hes winning matches it doesn't bother me one bit.

To be fair to the guy, if I would have lost to Derby, I'd be happy to shovel that crap in my mouth.

Why? If he was then he needs slapping upside his daft head. He is in an ultra privileged position and should act like it.

You are joking........ surely.

Having a burger after the game, what the hell is wrong with that?

I often have a burger at half-time, but sometimes opt for a pie - I don't see anything wrong with either choice.

...or am I missing the point?

McGugan does seem to be carrying a little extra, but I haven't really seen it affect his performances, he seems every bit as mercurial as he has always been. I think there's too much emphasis placed on having a toned physique nowadays when it's not necessarily central to performances. This is the sort of thing that is always picked up on when the team isn't doing particularly well. Obviously, McGugan should look at getting fitter so that he is better-equipped for ninety minutes of football, but that's a long term aim. The short-term aim is for him to contribute to keeping us in the division. Bearing that in mind, does it make more sense to slag him off publicly, to keep him on the bench and basically to kick him to the curb?

Very poor management from Billy Davies, just as with Joe Garner. His relationship with the young players must be increasingly strained. He seems to expect a level of professionalism and ability of our young players that they simply cannot yet deliver with the experience they have to call on. It's his job to manage them, not to shout his mouth off to the BBC at every verse-end in a vain effort to justify his decisions. That's not to say that McGugan is in no way culpable, but he is a young lad who has risen way too quickly. He's bound to have the odd hiccup along the way. We can't really afford to ostracize him when he holds all the cards - just like all footballers nowadays. For what it's worth, I don't think there's any problem with having takeaways, et cetera.

I know plenty of folk who eat such rubbish regularly, but because they work it off and have a good balance of foods, their fitness levels are superb.

I think this episode may force a few people to eat their words with regard to BD's management style.

Lewis has effectively underperformed for the entire season, and looked disinterested, lazy and unfit. I agree that when he plays well, the team plays well, take the second half at Reading for example. The problem really is that this has probably happened around three or four times this season, and often it is only in spurts, not for 90 minutes.

Clearly these issues have been around for a while and I do not think that CC would be the type of manager to deal with them head on, BD obviously is.

Lewis was left on the bench for the Swansea game, came on and did really well linking up with Earnie, he then returned to the 11 for Watford - I have rarely seen a display of such disinterest and laziness in all of the games I have attended, he stayed on the pitch for 90 minutes and contributed literally nothing. If I had to single one player out at that game it would have been him. It is so incredibly frustrating to see such talent effectively being wasted.

Now, the fact that he returned to the 11 suggests to me that BD felt positive that the shock of being left on the bench would buck Lewis's ideas up and force him to put in the effort required. The fact that he was then left on the bench again yesterday, combined with the post match comments from Billy suggests to me that this young man is as lazy and arrogant away from the field as he can be on it, yesterday's substitute performance was again average at best, although he was introduced well beyond a stage where he could have made any real difference - which doesn't bely the fact that he was greedy and wasteful with the ball and plays as if he is the only person that matters.

For those suggesting it would be unreasonable to expect a level of professionalism from such young men I only have two words - Chris Cohen

Lewis has the potential to be a half decent Premiership player, his main problem and drawback is the apparent want to slack off when things aren't going his way, the free kick yesterday for instance

If Lewis could cut the laziness and what looks like arogance, he could go on and actually be pivital to a team that would move forward and possibly emulate something akin to Bolton. I'm not saying that he is the sole player that would make us Premiership once again, but he is the type of player that could seperate us from actually achieving this and failing to do so. That and a manager like Billy Davies

Unfortunatly at the minute, he looks like he is guilty of hindering rather than helping

EDIT

I think the words of Billy yesterday were a way of telling us fans that he knows certain players are under performing, but at the minute he has no quality to replace them. Also I beleive it was a word of warning to people like Lewis. Buck your ideas up, quit the moaning and you'll be around next season

As a manager he needs all players performing on and off the field. McGugan and the alleged drinking culture at Forest certainly needs to be sorted if we are to get out of this mess. If McGugan hasn't responded to the quite word in the ear behind the scenes (and being on the bench the last few matches suggests this) Then what other way is there than to publicly slate him for it? He comes across as an arrogant sod but very talented. Billy just wants to eek out that talent on a regular basis. I hope it works.....

But if Billy's style of management doesn't work with Lewis, what then?

Do we then get rid of a potentially match-winning player? You've only got to look at the form that another one of our former players, Commons, has shown for Derby to know that as with Lewis, the potential was there all along.

And how many players have left Forest, only to succeed (and excel) elsewhere?

Just heard Billys interview on the iplayer and agreed with a lot of what he said, its certainly interesting and seems Billy is not happy with some members of the squad.

Also once again the Matchline is full of total idiots, I beg that one day they put an actual Forest fan on it
People ringing it up saying 'I've just sat on my arse listening to the match and have decided that the chairman should leave and thus kill the club ...' ... SHUT UP!

Maybe that's the problem - does he want to be here next season?

How About, A Swap Deal ... Stephen Pearson For McGugan
You Have A Decent Footballer, And I Can Guaruntee He's Not Enjoying Playing The Game With Davies In Charge
He Has Potential To Be A Prem Player ..
I Bet He's Lost Motivation, Davies Training Is A Lot More Physical And Trying Long Balls Instead Of Playing Football
To Say He's Fat Or Chubby Is BS, He Might Not Be A BodyBuilder But He Is Clearly Fit And Able

Billy Davies, When A Youngster Does Well He Takes All The Credit, If TheY Dont Perform Then They Were Terrible, It's Never His Tactics Or His Fault .. He Will Blame Everyone He Can Before He Looks At Himself

I Know A Few Of The Lads Go Out But They Are Doing What Normal 20 Year Olds Do .. Davies Wants Full Control .. MR.EGO

At DCFC, He Was Annoyed At The Lifestyles Of Some Players (Leacock, Barnes, Lupoli,Jones) ..
He Wanted Them To Stay In, Eat The Diet They Made, Give Them Curfews

1. We Tried To Get David Nugent, He Rejected The Move Because He Disliked Davies

2. Lupoli Was Considering Staying At Derby, But Davies Kept Playing Him Out Of Position, He Then Told Lupoli He Could Go Back To ITALY Before The Last Few Matches Of Our Play Off Season

3. His Tactics Against Cardiff Were Horrible In 1 Game, But He Decided To Blame David Jones And Dropped Him For Many Matches

4. Barnes - He Used To Give Barnes 100 Percent Freedom, When It Worked Davies Was The Master. But When It Didnt, BD Would Criticize Barnes For Not Defending And Being Disciplined. Barnes Was Injured Before Playoffs, Davies Sent Him Home And Told Him Not To Return Till Pre Season, Barnes Worked Hard And Surprisingly Got Fit For THe Playoffs, Davies Took All The Credit.
Barnes Injured In The Match, Davies Didnt Talk To Him For 2 Months In The Summer .. Davies Doesnt Care For Clubs Or Players, Bought Barnes Back 6 Weeks Early After A Serious Surgery, His Pre Season Game Was V Arsenal At The Emirates. Leading To Barnes Being Injured Again Seriously Due To Being Rushed Back
