Lewis McGugan

Does anyone else think he is looking for a move?

In the last few games I have seen him, he has been really below par and just walks around the pitch.

He was shocking last night.

I'd be disappointed to see him go normally, but after last night I couldn't really care.

It makes me laugh to be honest.

McGugan - Nottingham born - doesn't seem to care.
Cohen - London born? - played his heart out, gave 200%.
Tyson - Reading born - ran himself in the ground.

Didn't his dad try and sell him to a top 4 side last year and no-one wanted him?

I don't think it's a case of him wanting a move away from Forest, because if he does why would he play crap? That won't impress the scouts.

I just think he is off-form at present

My guess is that someone put a bid in for Mcgugan during the transfer window and it was turned down.
Just my opinion but his loss of form and bad body language started to appear at the time the window opened.

I agree totally, although the other Nottinghamshire lads (Perch and Morgan) gave it everything. McGugan needs to start showing some commitment. He left us once before for Chelsea with his inflated ego but came crawling back once it became clear he wasn't wanted. It's about time he repaid the faith the club showed in him.

McGugan should be dropped. He is just a passenger at the moment and we can't afford to keep playing with ten men.

At the End Of the day mcgugan is one of our best players, you cant argue with that, and sometimes you cant argue with the passion and commitment he displays and the way he gets stuck in.
but yes of late he looks lazy, and definatly out of form, i dont think dropping him would solve the problem at all.
He needs a shot up his f***ing arse.

lewis always has a fairly 'lazy' style but on form he's our best player, along with earnshaw and cohen. he was good v plymouth and sheff weds, its only last 2 games where not so so much, but he shouldnt shoulder all the burden, should be equal among the squad. Win together, lose together

oh yeah definatly i agree with the burden sharing 100% definatly matt1982, but his performances have just stuck out like a sore thumb recently..

I have to say I have noticed his attitude these passed few months. It wiffs a bit of how Reidy was towards the end of his stay with us.

Mcgugan has always been this way, having great games and appearing 'lazy' in others. If he performed consistantly to the best of his abilities then he would probably be playing in the prem now.

i bet he don't like the new "head down, sleeves up" approach, perhaps he liked being mollycodled by calderwood, because thats when he showed his best

I agree, he's been rubbish the past 3 games.

It seems to me with Lewis that he thinks he doesn't have to put any effort in, you see every other Forest player legging it, putting in 100% and he's just jogging like he's so good we should be privileged he's playing for us.

Lately he's reminding me alot of Commons before he left, being ball greedy, lazy and thinking he's better than he is.

He's talented but you just get the feeling he would happily sell out

He's in the team to be a matchwinner but I can't remember many occasions this season where that's happened. Should be dropped. It would be a good kick up the ar$e. Problem is we don't have any bloody replacements!

Need the Moose back ASAP!

Ive always felt the Lewis' heart isn't with the club, as many people believe it is. I firmly believe and have done that he is waiting around for a bigger move, and using us as a stepping stone, if we can get a healthy sum of money for him in the summer I wouldnt be dissapointed as much as he is a quality player for us ( when he wants to be ).

I would love him to sort himself out and play as we know he can. Maybe he's just tired aswell with playing alot of football recently, alot of factors could be behind his recent run of form.

100% effort, best player on the pitch, carrying a team, making no secret of his love for the club but also his desire to play in the Premiership rather than League 1?

look at his reaction to earnshaws goal in the first leg aganist derby, doesnt starting celebrating untill about a minute after!?!?!?!?!

McGugan needs a kick up the backside and could do with being dropped but at the moment we dont have enough numbers to enable davies to do this!!!!

I don't know what more he could do. In the first 20 minutes when we got the ball down he looked alright. After that everything went over his head and straight to the forwards. He was living off knockdowns.

The lad could do with a few games on the bench, give him a bit of a rest and let him re-focus.

But that can't be done can it? Because it would mean playing a kid that's barely experienced at reserve level.

I find it funny that people think this is a new thing. He's ALWAYS been like that.

Like Commons, he's just not an out and out midfielder. Cut him free of defensive responsibilities and you get the best out of him.

Every player with a brain  will have to do their bit of defensive work when called for, likewise, a defensive player should take the opportunity to get into space and attack when it is right to do so.
