Lewis McGugan target for Villa in January

Youth Team
When I said not much I meant his value, for us he'd be an obvious miss - his goals this season have given us a lot of points.

However, at the start of the season he wasn't really at the forefront of anyone's thoughts... it would be a wrench to see him leave now we're starting to see a degree of consistency from him. That said, it would be good to avoid the farce that is the arbitration panel for valuing players under 24 who leave...

Maybe Villa could give us a few quid and loan him back to us?

I can't see where he'd fit in at Villa except on the bench, that Houiller might prefer to blood their own academy players and spend money on players who'd add more quality to their first eleven straight-away.

It was only a matter of time before someone was linked with him. Can forest keep hold of him? Probably not if a prem team comes in for him and if the price is right then we all know that this board will sell the player.

I'd take a million plus Barry Bannan.

He's out of contract so it's not up to them. Lewis is always going to choose the bigger club with more wages whether he plays or not. He needs a shinier watch.

straight swap for carew, with villa paying his wages

I dont think he'll be going anywhere in January. Look at him last season - he was nothing more than a bench warmer and for every good appearance he made from the bench there were two or three average ones. He needs to be playing and regular football (if only to keep the weight off) and I think he knows that now. I dont think any Prem team would be able to offer him that.

He'll overdose on Toblerone over Christmas and be shit again.

He signed an extension last season. His contract is not up at the end of this season it's in 2012.

Even if he was out of contract he is under 24 anyway.

Are you sure? Could have sworn it was up in 2011.

Hope you're right though, obviously

Under 24 means we get granted a bag of crisps and £200k by the arbitration panel :(

Would we Kettle Chips? What flavour?

I'd take Albrighton. Weren't we linked with him at one point last season?

200k and a bag of crisps buys a lot of derisory offers on January 31st.
