Lewis McGugan & A Tyson question.

Whilst at the match on Saturday, i was near a bloke who was slating McGugan, calling him a Fat Bastard Prima Donna, and a few people around him were also chanting suchlike when he was playing, was this just banter in a fun way, or are a few turning against him?

I like him, but do feel he is arrogant and needs to be taken down a peg or two, I know he knows hes a good player, But he needs to keep his feet on the ground for now.

Also, anyone see Tyson storm offthe pitch at full time, never applauded the fans or anything, he twin girls were mascots that game, ad i wondered if e went off to collect his girls, but someone said he had a bust up with Chambers on the pitch and was heard to have called Chambers a f***ing prick, anyone know anything more on this?

That makes more sense then, it must have been chinese whispers when i heard it, I remember Lynch either passing to someone else when Tys was clearly in space and could have scored (maybe) compared to the other person.

Re: Lewis McGugan

I think anyone giving him shit in anything other than jest at this stage of the season needs to take a good look at themselves. He's been good for us so far, and he's young.

Billy gave him the public dressing down he needed about his weight and now it's up to him to show us what he can do, and it's also up to us to give him chance to do this. I think it's a big season for the lad now he's coming of age and we'll see whether he really warrants being linked with an U-21 place or not.

I seem to remember a very talented young lad we had an issue with his weight. His name was Keith Foy and instead of knuckling down he ballsed it up and ended up playing sunday league in Dublin.

The argument was with Chambers.

Chambers was giving Tys an earful over something, so Tyson told him to f*** off.

McGugan is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is IMO. He seems to stroll around the pitch and when he has the ball keeps it to himself I find him quite selfish sometimes and he can ruin good attacks with his lack of passing.

As for Tyson god knows.

This is also my view of him, but he is a good player, just seems to want to try and do it all himself sometimes, he's scored some class goals, but i'd rather see him more as a team player than try scoring flash goals etc, he has definately lost weight and hopefully that will bode well for the forthcoming season.

Re: Lewis McGugan

I noticed this going on during the Stoke game as well, people slagging him off saying how much weaker we looked after he came on. To be fair we did look shakey after the restart, but this was probably more down to McKennas absence than anything. I hope our fans stay off his back and get behind him, why is it we fans always seem to turn our aggression on our most creative players.
Lewis has undoubted quality and I personally think he has the potential to become one of our best academy finds since Jenas. He has obviously worked hard to get in shape this summer and done everything Billy asked of him at the end of last season so I can't understand fans berating him for being fat. My one criticism is he can sometimes be a bit greedy, but be fair to the lad he's still a very young player, and I would expect this side of his game to improve as he gains experience (especially playing alongside McKenna).
He doesn't win himself many fans with the way he saunters around the pitch, which is where I think a lot of the lazy/prima donna comments are coming from. Although the same could be said of Mcgoldrick one of pre seasons stand out performers, I didn't notice any of these comments being aimed at him.

Lynch was asking Tyson to mark a player during a free-kick while Tyson was standing over the ball to prevent a quick free-kick. Tyson carried on doing this while Lynch was bending his ear to mark the player. After a 10 second arguement with his back to Lynch ( and still not in position) Tyson told Lynch to 'f*** off you knob). After the free-kick was taken Tyson then went to foul another player which led to McFaddens poor free-kick, Chambers and Lynch then carried on moaning at him before the free-kick was taken.

The sauntering around is what ive noticed, especially when warming up on the side line, fans will chant his name, but he just ignores them 75% of the time, unlike the rest who will clap to the fans, Fans like this interaction with the players and makes them seem more on our level, if ignored it gets their backs up, as it dont take a couple of seconds to aknowledge our support, admittedly he clapped on Saturday, but thats a rarity wih him of late, i wonder if the new boys coming in seem a threat to him as we have a couple of near equal capabilities as himself, he was used to being player most talked about?

Lewis McGugan is in danger of becomming a Billy Big-Bollocks, like Agogogogogogogogogo did when he came limping back from Africa.

Tyson is good when not played on the left wing.

Chambers is tosh.

Lynch is questionable.

I know these views have naff all to do with the thread, but I thought I would share them all with you anyway.

I said a while back McGugan seems to be a little threatened by the new arrivals and seems to be trying to do too much instead of playing a simple game. I don't think he's being lazy, quite the opposite, trying too hard! He just needs to realise it's not all about him and he should work hard to be part of the team, which he can offer a hell of a lot to.

Everyone moans about McGugan but they'll be moaning even more when he leaves and becomes a top class player for another team!!!!

Tysons the little b*tch and he's the one threatened by the new signings! I think he'd got used to being the main man - when we were in league one he'd be first choice whenever he was fit, then last season we struggled when he was out. But now Billy has strikers coming out of his ar$$ehole he's got to earn his place ......... and maybe he's not up to it

Maybe it was just pasion being shown.

I'm just glad the players seem to care about what is going on and not just saying "Oh good another big packet this week off the club"

Might be wrong but maybe these players are trying to win the game??

This is where a good captain is needed to be going round and letting know where players are not up to scratch.

Mcgugan has always been a 20 minute impact sub player in my eyes. Hopefully under Davies he gets the fitness and mental aptitude to make a full 90 minutes count.

I am sure Tyson is frustrated it looks like after a while that Tyson is not going to be a regular striker regardless of injury.

Adebola and McGoldrick have impressed massively for me since they came to the club. We all know what Blackstock is about after last season. With Earnie to add to the mix I cannot really see Tyson or Garner making regular appearances upfront. I guess this is why BD has been testing the pair on the wings. Tyson is bound to be frustrated or annoyed about that.

Particularly as he is not a particularly good winger

Just one of those things, we put Tyson up front. He scores a hat trick then he finds himself at back of the queue again on the left it seems to me.

It'll all fall into place when season starts, if we're not getting the goals people will lose the slot until they re-earn it. I think Majewski fitting in well though, looks like he can score some long range shots without comprimising his position too much.
