Don't know which paper this was, but I'd like to think the report is referring to Billy having a go at Lewis at half time.

If this was indeed the case, it was a masterstroke.

McGugan was f**king awful in the first half. Not just in terms of the quality of his play, but more alarmingly his stinking attitude. I thought it was worse than ever before (and that's saying something given his general mardiness in recent weeks). I just don't get him at all. If he plays s**t, then he's never gonna get that move to the Prem (if, indeed, that's what he's after), so what's with the attitude?

I'd have had the lazy f**ker off at half time, but just goes to show what I know. He actually tried in the 2nd half & showed signs of his undoubted class, capped by a superb solo effort that (deservedly) won us the match.

So well done Billy. You don't seem to want to be everyone's friend, like Calderwood appeared to crave, and perhaps the lads are starting to get used to that and actually listen and learn.

Suppose we'll find out on Tuesday.

I think part of it was confidence with Lewis. He has been poor, by his standards, recently. But once he got the goal you saw the difference in his play. He was running at players, playing great football all round.

I think he will start to show his skills again.

Is Lewis the new Stan?
Depends, if he pisses off to Liverpool, beats up his girlfriend, hangs around carparks and throws away his talent then yes he is the new Stan.

Great link - thank you!

1 question: Reading's 1st attack (on the highlights, that is) - HOW THE HELL DID HE MISS THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!

Cracking goal - definitely a game of 2 halves, and the highlights -er- highlight that....

Cloughie would have torn him a new arse for being so greedy and not passing it....at full time lol !

Great goal though. A true glimpse of what lewis is about and one we hope to see much more of !
I think early season sentiments were spot on when we all said Guy's prescence gives him so much more chance to get forward and support the attackers. Guy seems to have the intelligence to spray the passes (love that phrase) relevant to the recieving player.

We saw a good link up between Lewis and Earnie during Guy's first few games, unfortunately that was lost as he became tired and injury set in ! But I feel it may be about to return !

T'was a freekick, for f*** all against Lynch if memory serves.

Notice how someone has actually glued the Reading keepers feet down for Lewis' goal. Hanemann would have saved that.

Smith wouldn't though.

Lee Camp would have saved it, bowled it out to himself on the right wing, then crossed it to himself to volley into the top corner.

Then done a triple backwards somersault celebration, signed every fan's programme and made it back to his goal, but not on the line, in time for the restart.

But then again, camp is the reincarnation of Chilavert !

Problem is , McGugan tends to run into blind alleys trying his fancy flicks , taking on players and losing the ball. How many times have we seen that from him ? While he might have his moments , he sometimes do tends to overdo it. He's no ronaldo.
