I seem to be good at reposting stuff, but spotted on the BBC sport gossip section we are trying to sign striker Leon Best from Newcastle on permanent according to the News Of The World. Apparently we are competing with Burnley, Palace and Swansea but they just want to loan him. Did a search and couldn't find anything recent on him....

Surely its cobblers - we already have more strikers than the post office....
 
ugh OK I guess the search button is crap and the only way to know is to read threads... found it in the transfer clockwatch thread

I cant mention my source........... But I think I read somewhere that we are after Pratley from Swansea, and might put in a cheeky bid for Peter Wittingham....
 
Don't like his face, looks like a thug to me. Hope we don't sign him.

Two & a half years according to your joining date - July 2008?
 
Although I'm not his biggest fan I think he could be a cheaper, younger and more experienced bet than Morison, I'd imagine £500k would be enough to get him in. If some of the rumours doing the rounds at the minute are correct we could add 4-5 experienced players at the right stage of their career for a total of 2-3 M. Personally out of those players we are rumoured to be interested in I would like to see the following;

Best Newcastle 500k
Reid Sunderland 500k
Killagon Sunderland 700k
Parr Norwegain Club500k
Osbourne A Villa 400k

I know its akin to playing footy manager but you just get the feeling if we could make a bit of investment now it'd give us a great squad without much outlay, obviously its all depending on wages which in some of these cases may, as always, be an issue. Anyway guess we'll know more in the coming weeks

Not as ridiculous as this - apparently Billy Davies will be our new manager. Why didn't Doughty go for Nigel Clough, he's forest through and through?!
 
How many years has Forest been chasing Best ? Wayy back in league one under Calderwood , i think a few more years down the line and we can give him a testimony for being a honorary forest player.

Billy Davies?? He's rubbish.. We should definitely go for Clough, he's bound to bring us luck and could be the next Clough!!
