Left Back

Sorry if this question has been asked, but who exactly is going to play at left back on Saturday? The question really is, why on earth aren't we being linked with/have already signed a left back?

People moan about us being short at right back, but at least we have people who can play there (Chambers, Perch, Wilson at a push). OK, they are of varying ability (understatement in my eyes, although Chambers deserves a crack at CB), but it's better than the situation we have on the other side.

Heath - out on loan.

Reid - out on loan.

Bennett - presumably still injured (after a serious injury it has to be said, who knows how good he's going to be when back).

Lynch - haven't heard anything on this front.

My concern is that considering Billy hasn't seen Bennett play under him, I don't see how he can rate him. Therefore, I'm really confused that we haven't been moving heaven and earth (maybe we have been, but I would say it's more of a priority than signing more strikers) to sign a left back.

I imagine we'll sign someone in the next couple of weeks, but only because it would simply be ludicrous if we didn't.

Bennett will be back soon.
In the meantime we'll take Rogers on loan from the Red Lion Sunday Morning reserves team.

Forest do have a habit of springing trialists on us during these trips away so that could be a reality. Otherwise we may see something over the next day or 2. I'm sure Jules ain't back training until August.

W will just have to wait and see I suppose as to what happens. I think there may be some more news coming up before the weekend. It's only one friendly though so, as much as I'd like a full squad, it neither bothers me that much !

God forbid but BD may be thinking about playing 3 at the back, or just stick Mr Utility Cohen there.

If I were manager I'd be looking to loan a left back for 3 months or something. I've got faith that Jules is the man there long term so I wouldn't want to spend money on a first choice left back as it's not an area priority. Equally if you get a cheap rubbish one it's also a waste because well...they're cheap and rubbish!

So long someone of sufficient quality to do a job until JB gets back to full fitness.

The world according to a Weasel. I thankyou.

I'm thinking that Davies will be aware of the shortfall and will be working on it.

Selfish of him not to post about it on here, though.

I'm pretty sure Cohen was a left-back during his time at West Ham :)

He was indeed and has also played left-back for us a couple of times.

With our no nonsense approach to transfers and the acquisition team now in overdrive don't be surprised to see our back line looking like this..........

Gunter - Barker - Mills - Lynch

Am I still asleep? - don't any of you lot try to wake me up.

That would work for me.

Be an improvement on what we have. Bit harsh on Morgan though - I may not be his biggest fan but he played out of his skin at times last season.

Sorry mate, I can't say I'm a big fan of Wes - he's been un-done more times than the buttons on my shirt.

He'll make a good bench warmer though.

That bench would stay warm with Wes and Moussi on it!

Wide enough to be watching every game from row K of the main stand.

lol lol lol

Harsh though, apart from his brainfreeze against Sheffield United, which could well have got us relegated, he had some decent games where his pace bailed us out.

He's still young for a centre half and I think he has a future at the club, albeit it not as first choice.

I hope he is.

I'd say Wilson's best position is Left-Back.

Left back on the team bus that is...

I have to disagree with this one..

He doesn't deserve it more than Arron Davies. ::)

Nah its right back

Right back behind the goal - in the trent end (or the trent for that matter).

He is our best midfielder though. I'd rather have him in the middle than playing LB. As few people have said Wilson will probably get a go

There's nothing to worry about. It's only Sporting Lisbon. That means that who ever plays there only has to deal with Moutinho...

Oh dear... were going to lose.
