Just listened to his interview on Radio Nottingham,

He may be a bit of a joker (i.e. rubbing his nuts in front of the Watford fans) but i was surprised how articulate he sounded! :)

I was wondering if Lee Camp is better than Paul Smith? maybe we should do a poll.

Also, whats the Leeds score ?

Good to see Billy pick his best keeper for todays game, while resting other players.

Sometimes you just can't risk these things.....

I think I might be a little bit in love with Lee Camp, but I wish he'd learn to push shots away from the goal rather than back into play - if he did that he'd probably be a very good goalkeeper rather than just a good one.

Something to put right on the training ground.

I thought Smith would start today but based on the strength of Camp's performance today it was another good call not to rest him.

Several smart saves and generally was excellent all round, as usual.

Can't agree he was excellent all round. His distribution was exceptionally poor today.

He made some excellent saves, though.

There was one time in the second half when he badly sliced his kick, even though it somehow made it's way all over to Joe Hart lol

I thought it was fine apart from that.

But one of his clearances nearly set up a goal scoring opp. The one where he came way out his are and put I think dex through on goal

Compare his kicking to Hart's today and you'll see he was lacking. It's not a strong point of his, and ironically is a strong point of Smith's, yet was one of the main criticisms of Smith.

Hart's kicking is better, but he is a much better keeper, hence why he is in the Premiership and has a chance of going to the World Cup.

I don't think Smith's kicking is any better than Camp's, even though I agree there wasn't much wrong with Smith's.

Lee Camp's kicking has been a little poor over the last 2 games but normally it is pretty decent. What he lacked in kicking today he certainly made up for in the one outstanding save he made and a couple of other good saves

Some of his saves were cracking. Wouldn't dream of saying otherwise.

Smith had the ability to kick equally well with both feet, though.

His kicking is slightly better than Smiths and his all round distribution is far better.

His kicking has been poor the last few games though.

Hes not a great kicker by any means though. This was shown by the quality of the last two keepers at the City Ground, Hart and Westwood.

Kicking to a Goalkeeper is, in my view, as important to them as tackling is to a forward.

If it's great, it's a real bonus, if its shite, it doesn't really matter but will always be an arrow in the weaponary of those who seek to critisise.

It's more important than your analogy suggests. It doesn't matter if Didier Drogba doesn't tackle back, but if Cech's kicking was shit, it would be a bigger deal. Distribution from the goalkeeper is a really important bedrock of any team.

Kicking is very important to a goalkeeper, to set up attacks on the opposition.

If a keeper is squandering possession with poor kicks or slicing it out of play, (like Roche did for us) then it causes us all sorts of problems and piles pressure on us unnecessarily.

Camps good and instills me with confidence with his shot stopping abilities and his ability to gel within THIS team we have!!! Smith is more demanding, and I refuse to get into one of the most disscussed topics on this forum!!! :p

It's really not that important.

As long as it's forward and away from goal it's decent enough. Reina sliced one out of play today and he's worth several million more than Campy.

I can list numorous things that are more important. Like shot stopping.

If we're relying on our keeper to set up play then we're back to the dark hoofball ages.
