Last game of the season??

hi,

last game of the season against Southampton, will it come down to it?

I think that in the next few games if we can pick points up we can escape the end of season drama. Hopefully.

Thoughts??

Maybe,
Didn't Southampton surviving come down to the last game of the season last year?

We will be safe by that game.

I f***ing hope so.

Don't think so though. I reckon we'll be in a similar position to what Sheffield Wednesday were in last season. Not one of the favourites to go down, but a loss and a few bad results either way could leave it all a bit dicky.

I am 99.9% certain Southampton and Charlton will go down.

I reckon Norwich and Charlton are the certainties. Soton are pulling off some cracking results at them mo

Yeah it's quite worrying to see that Southampton are bulldozing teams right now.

Mind you, who just took down Reading yesterday? Us!

With So'ton having a game in hand it was really important that we won yesterday, the same can be said for Tuesday but it will be an effort.

At the end of the season....

Derby
Forest
So'ton
-----------
Blackpool
Charlton
Norwich

I can see it going down to the last day again.

When does it not go to the wire with Forest ::)

Past 3 seasons promotion has still been possible on the final day, and the season before we were only relegated a week before the end (and were still involved in relegating Gillingham on the last day)

I sincerely hope im wrong and were well and truely safe by time May comes, but I can quite easily see it being a winner takes all game.

Well seeing as the last game will be the only one I'll be attending this season then I'm kind of hoping we'll be safe and I can relax and enjoy the day.

Is the last game on a Sunday?

I think I'll be there, as I was last year.

I also think we'll be safe by then. Just.

Norwich won't go down. I know it's not looking good for them at the moment, but I just think they'll pull through in the end.

Charlton are as good as down, and as well as they're playing at the moment, I just don't think Southampton will have quite enough.

Other than that, it'll be one from Norwich, Blackpool, Plymouth.

Possibly Blackpool.

Not much mention of Plymouth...... OK they beat Wolves on Saturday but looking at their form over the last 3-4 months they have to be a favourite to go down now?

I mentioned Plymouth, and I think they'll be there or thereabouts, but will have that little bit of 'quality' that Blackpool don't have come May.

I think it will be tough, but we will be safe a couple of games before Southampton match.

I do hope so.

For a whole variety of reasons I do not want that match to be a 'winner takes all' scenario.

(I think this thread in its entireity to this point sums up all that's brilliant about LTLF, and why I love it so much!!! lol )

Either way, there's going to be the mother and father of all pissups in Nottingham on the evening of the 3rd - either we celebrate joyously safety in the Championship, or in true Irish fashion we have a wake.

Did you know that fashion is the other of only two words in the English language that ens "-shion"

I am told that there is a third English word ending in -shion, apart from cushion and fashion: what is it? Printer Friendly Version

The usual answer is hushion, a rather unusual Scots dialect word for a footless stocking (a sort of leg-warmer).

A rather better-known Scots word is fushion, like I said, meaning `spirit, energy, gumption' or (in referring to food) `wholesomeness'.

The complete Oxford English Dictionary also lists the word parishion meaning the same as `parishioner' (a member or inhabitant of a parish).
