I don't think Abbott will go out on loan for the same reason.

Arguably Abbott does need a year at a top half CH club to get some match experience but he's not been too far off the PL standard when he's played in his natural position.

But the club are clearly bothered about keeping this record going so if it's not either of those then it will probably be some kid who's on the bench as a token gesture and who isn't anywhere near ready to play
 
Good points regarding Dom, he’s always reliable and a fan favourite however, last season he was mainly used as a backup/different option out wide when all other wide players were struggling and even under Glasner so far he has only really featured in the second string teams.

Also good conspiracy theory points about Yates. It feels obvious that Gibbs white is captain this season and even last season felt Yates was a fake captain as he didn’t feature as much as others.

Another conspiracy with absolutely zero evidence to back it up, is that McAtee isn’t that well favoured, as to why we’re still looking for another cm and Glasner been asked to big him up to the media so that we can recoup as much as possible when it comes to selling…

Mentioned this all summer. This will likely be Yates last chance to get a Prem move as if he ends up in the mascot role this season no one is buying him to start in this league.

His stock is still relatively high and there’s been rumoured interest from promoted sides. If he fancies himself as being able to start at one of those clubs it’d be a sensible move unless he genuinely doesn’t care about playing time and just wants to see out as long as possible here. I’d imagine Glasner wouldn’t stand in his way either.

If I had to bet, Yates will be gone by the deadline.

You don’t think him not featuring in CM (his position) all pre season isn’t an indication he is further away?

I bet you Yates certainly feels that way

There comes a point when you want to play football though. He's already lived his dream and even got to play and score in Europe for us. Maybe he'd like to lift a domestic cup but even then he's lifted a trophy at Wembley with us.

I'm Forest through and through and if I'd already got the same experiences under my belt as him I'd be happy to say that's my lot. Nothing lasts forever and he's got too much to offer not to be playing football regularly somewhere.
 
Don’t forget that we need 8 HG players in the 25. We’re at 9 now that T is gone, but that includes Richards. If Yatesy is to leave we need to sign another HG. Delap could be one, but I don’t think Yatesy will leave this window. If we’re back in Europe next season he will be very handy to have around as well, as we then need local trained players to full up the squad.

No, we don't. The rule is that we can have a maximum of 17 senior, non-homegrown players in the 25. Beyond that squad composition doesn't matter. We don't have to (and this season probably won't) use all of the 25 spots.

We've currently got 15 senior non-homegrown, and of those Bakwa looks near certain to leave in the next couple weeks and probably Savona as well. We're nowhere near having any issues with squad limits.

I know that, but then you have to reduce the total amount and i’m not sure it’s a good thing going into the season with a reduced squad. It was a problem in Europe last season and it can quickly become a problem in the PL as well. We have a few players with suspect injury records for the last few years, like Wood, Aina, CHO, Ndoye for instance. I think we’ll need the 25

Decent U21’s, like Cunha, Moreira and Abbott, will help, but i rather keep a player like Yates and allow some of the U21s to go out on loan.

OG has already indicated he's looking to have a squad of 20 outfielders (and presumably then 3 keepers for a total of 23).

An article the other day suggested he considered the current squad "bloated". Feels very unlikely we use 25, and so is probably unnecessary to worry about the 17 non-HG limit or the 25 total limit as we're going to be a player or two short of hitting either of them.

I think it was only a problem last season as Nuno used up one of the spaces on Boly and left us having to screw around with it more than we should have in jan
