I said a few weeks ago i'd hope it was true. Not for the comedy values arguing over who called it but for the good of the team. I suspect that the rumours from guinless and others are spot on or thereabouts just the club not showing there hand until the last moment

£1.8m would be a bargain but echoing the views of most on here it's doubtful to say the least. With the reputation he's building, his young age and the previous figures quoted along with premieship interest he'd more likely cost £3m-£4m which would probably be a fair price but one unlikely we are going to be able to shell out.
