Just a thought on Loan players..

If we couldn't shell out £1.5million for Whittingham, then what kind of loan players are we going to get?!

It was rumoured that Boyd cost us £500k, or would of done if he had of played so many matches etc.. But this was from around March til June?

How much is a good quality season long loan going to cost us??

I see no logic in us waiting for the loan market, and would probably hazard a guess now on us not even bothering getting any players in on loan.. and just waiting til January?

Thoughts??

We can't sign players on loans longer than 93 days.

Check your calendar and you'll see that won't take us to the busy Christmas period or indeed the start of the January transfer window.

End of September if we bring in any loans.

God help us all.

How much did it cost to loan Majewski = nothing. It only cost us that much to loan Boyd because he was Peterborough's best player at the time (still is). So we shouldn't really look to loan clubs' best players we should try and loan their 'not so good' ones that wont make their 25 man squad or youngsters.

it would only be a short term 3 month loan anyway as its a emergency loan window (i actualy wish they would close this window to be fair) tbh I am not expecting anyone until october time if at all, just got to accept the players we have available atm is our squad and hope the do us proud. no signings this year lets hope we manage to play catch up in jan or at least next summer

people are hoping for prem quality loans here they will cost us a fee and substantial wages, what would be a good guage of costs would be how much shorey cost us unfortunatly that is not known

But my point is - what sort of quality players are we going to get in?? I dont think there will be many Bellamy deals going during this loan spell..

Look at a team like Man Utd, we are most likely to end up with some youngster who is making the step up from the reserves.. Is that what we really want?!

The only sort of deal I can see going through is say Michael Owen, who is on a pay as you play deal with United, but I still cant see how that can work..

Im just worried because our favourite 11 at the minute looks kind of weak -

Camp

Chambers Morgan Wilson Bertrand

Cohen? Majewski Mckenna Tyson?

Earnshaw Blackstock

Too many players who are being played out of position.. But cant see a premiership reserve player doing any better. I hate Doughty

Nah, with the 25 player rule this season and the shining example man city have set clubs will be thankful for anything they can get. Any player not in the 25 will be agitating for a loan move as they would only be able to play in the carling cup otherwise.

do you honestly think that most managers didnt have the 25 man squads tied up a few weeks back with the odd addition factured in? im sure the agents of the players likely to be left out would have contacted interested clubs and they will have sprung into action to get season long deals sorted (bellamy) rather than a poxy 3 month, also I reckon alot of them will be loaned to european clubs rather than championship.

think we would be extremly lucky to find a club willing to pay the amount city are in wages towards the player, and even if we only have to pay say 15k in wages I can only see one player at most comming in, I wouldnt be suprised if we didnt look at loaning out of favour championship players who are forced out be other clubs prem loans

But out of favour Championship players is hardly a good compromise?

The simple fact is we needed players on a permanent basis. That didn't happen and we are going to suffer for it.

The board haven't exactly followed through on some of their promises, but I just cannot see them then wasting money on "out of favour Championship players". We'd be no better off at all. There'd just be more competition for the bench.

I think they'd have one pencilled in, then they'd maybe let the side know, then see what happens with injuries and effort in the busy August and preseason schedules... most clubs have played quite a few games now. All these things could change a final 25 - you don't want your Jenases going out on loan for a season with no possibility of recall if your three other preferred players in that position are likely to get crocked or start the season playing ****e. Once it's put up or shut up time, things can change. I'm confident there will be a number of options, even if I'm not confident the club will capitalise on them.

Loan players only really cost if you're taking one with a view to a permanent deal or if you're taking an established player, which doesnt happen all that often. Raddy reportedly cost about £200k to loan last year and Boyd was £350k.

I would imagine any available loans at this stage would either be youngsters needing loan experience or players that are unwanted. Neither of which are going to cost too much in terms of a loan fee.

We'll finally get some kid in October who Billy will stubbornly refuse to play saying that 'he's not up to our level of fitness yet'. By the time he is fit enough he will be an unused substitute until he leaves.
I was so looking forward to this season...

Agree totally

No, it cost us about 115,000 to loan Raddy

I thought boyd only cost us around 350k loan fee, but then depending on how many games he played this could be rasied to 500k

I just hope if we somehow loan some players we can make them permanent in the loan window.

Which we won't, for Shore.

I wouldn't be surprised if we announced 2 loan signings tomorrow.
