Many thanks!

He said he's been spending a lot of time in the gym building up the muscle and will be back on grass after the international break.

Said it has been a very tough nine months, but being from Nottingham, having lots of friends and family around has really helped.

Never been in doubt that he would be back but the injury is one where you have to 'respect the time' it takes to heal.

Praised the physios and medical team at Forest as being the 'best in the world'.

Wants to be on the pitch and it's killing him not being able to play but is delighted with the way the club is progressing. Full of praise for Billy and said he has completely shaken the club up and can't wait to be a part of it all.

Can't see why we can't challenge higher up the table with the talent and ability we have.

Great, thanks Jonathan. I'd probably hate Jules if I met him, but from the stands, he's always looked like a bloke who's giving it his best, and that's the important bit.

I presume being back on the grass means he'll be jogging ...

He came across quite well in that interview, even if he did say 'The gaffer has shaked up the club from top to bottom'.

I dare say he's also delighted to see we've decided to play out the entire 9 months without bothering to buy a new left back, it's nailed on for him to come back and go straight in (and be awesome)

I thought he came across well, even if he'll never be presenting newsnight ;D

Obviously really wants to get back on the pitch and play, and is 'rrrrrispec'ful' of the club and management. Can't ask for more than that.

My Uncle grew up in London Decades ago, as far back as Ican remember he always used the term chav even before it was well known, he always said it stood for Council House And Violent.

He has a Nottingham accent as far as I can see ! I don't know where he gets this chav image tbh !

One of the most Forest players, through and through we have had in years. I love the guy ! I haven't seen as much passion on a regular basis since another left back I darent mention ;D He didn't have the greatest of starts in CCC but as Fraser says, he will be raring to go and prove himself to Billy. I think he will come back a better player, older and wiser and prove how good a player he is. We have missed him and his love for the club !

I bought a book in this from HMV a couple of years ago.

It's etymology is hotly disputed, one such possibility being what you offer, although it's widely thought that is a bacronym.

Another was that it is derived from Romany, although I can't remember what it means. It's something inane like 'man'. chaval is Spanish for kid, which would seem consistent.

Others included being a pejorative based on the way said scallies pronounced Chatham. This theory is based on Chatham being the origins of the 'chav'.

The one I liked best was that it stems from the class divide in Cheltenham, where the posh girls went out for a bit of rough, and referred to them as 'chavs' (CHeltenham AVerageS). This, again, is disputed, as it could apply to any posh town that starts with a 'Ch'. Chipping Norton Averages isn't quite as catchy, though.

It all sounds like ****-ish to me, I don't really give a toss, sorry.

You're probably right in regards to it coming from a Romany origin.

I was brought up in Newark where a lot of the slang there has the same origins. We used to call one another 'chav' or 'chavy' long before the media got hold of it and tagged it along with anything that wore a Burberry baseball cap.

Heh, I went to school in Southwell. Newark lads got called "gypos", now I know why :)

Chavs were called "Rude Boys" then.

Typo, or is that a real word?
[/quote]

Real word. Usually used as part of a sentence involving 'sausarageonym' and eggronym ! FACT

Don't forget hashbronym ::)
Oh and it's...............
a backronym is constructed by taking an existing word already in common usage, and creating a new phrase using the letters in the word as the initial letters of the words in the phrase
