Jules plays 45 mins on return

Really pleased for him, having had the same operation as him last January I was luck enough to get back playing in August so he must have had complications with his rehab. I know how hard it was for me to not touch a ball for 3 months never mind not get to play for over a year. Hope he can get back to full fitness and playing regularly even if its not with us. Met him a few years back when he'd just joined us and he was a top bloke.

Great news he got 45mins. then move onto afew 90mins then before long he'll play afew league games before end of season.

think he'll rather wait till he's 100% fit before playing a league game tho.

When is his contract up ?

I thought this summer. Personally I'd give him a year.

Wasn't he fans player of the year promotion season ?

Think he has something to prove and I would like to see him have the opportunity. Nobody thought Wilson and other would step up like they have and Bennett showed maybe more promise then most. Give him a year

Spot on; Jules was our Player of the Season in the L1 Promotion season, and did not look out of place in the few games he played last year in the Championship.

He is well worth sticking with, he's a genuine fan, and a player who can only improve. You only have to look at the improvement in Big Wes and Kelvin this season to see Billy and his coaches have some 'magic' that they've worked!

I'm a big Jules fan, let's hope he can get back to his best!

JB has passion and aggression, he scores goals and he's a local lad who loves the club.

Let's hope he's fully recovered from a terrible injury and able to take his career as far as he can.

It would be nice to see him get a shot at this level for us, before people write him off.

I want him to play against Derby. He is always inured when we play them. I love to see him to go in 50/50 with Mceverly and Savage. He snap them. A good player wheneve he played for us. BD will turn him into a good championship defender

Just watched his interview on FP.

Showed a proper clean, crunching tackle on their winger. No messing about!

He'll never be at the same level he was at before the injury. It'll take him around a year to get anywhere near it.

Never knew we had Mystic Meg on here ;)

He might not but he could full well be back to a good level of match fitness and ready to play a role in a months time.

I agree. Hes been in rehab for months. A few reserve games and sub apperances and he could do a job sooner than we think

He may feature in possibly the last few games of the season. Just depends if we are resting players for the play-offs, or giving him his last hurrah before we step up through automatic and he leaves.

If we go up I think he may leave, as the Prem isn't really the place to see if he can step up.

If we stay in this league then I think he will be given that opportunity to prove himself.

Sorry but not a chance. The guys had almost a year and a half out, it will take ages to get to a proper level of fitness and to get used to being back in the routine.

He'll have been doing rehab for the best part of a year and the last 6 weeks at least will have been a lot of fitness work. A pre-season it only that long and should he get a few more reserve games under his belt in the next few weeks and continues training with the rest of the squad theres no reason he can't be ready for our last 6-8 games. Match sharpness will be the toughest thing but that's what the reserve games are for.

Decent team out there - Moussi, McGugan, Bennett, Chambo, McCleary, McGoldrick, Garner, Adebola.

Still lost 1-0 to Coventry, though! lol

Fraser Nicholson also notes that Billy Davies has said we'll see the real Julian Bennett next season.

I presume that means he'll be here beyond the summer. I wonder if maybe we'll be offering him a one-year extension to prove his fitness.

Well he has signed a new contract today for an extra year so BD expects him to be playing soon id imagine. Otherwise signing a one year extention to a contract when your not ready to play for another year would seem senseless to me!
