would love to see him back to his old self but he'll never do that if there is a player in front of him. until jan would be good so we can decide to give him a new contract.

Good move, I just hope he manages to stop saying "innit" and "brap" long enough for his new team mates to say hello.

We've signed shorey remember.....:suicide:rofl

This must mean the club have an alternative target in thier sights, at least I hope so.

This still may not happen and if it does, it won't mean a replacement is lined up.

Would be a good move as long as it's to a Championship club so he can get some experience at this level.

Nobody is thinking that its a way of offloading his wages from the pity contract extension we gave him? Kind of like a girl saying that you should just be friends as they don't want to ruin what you already have? Even though all you want to do is ruin her? f***ing women.

It doesn't matter if its one of those loans where we can call him back at any time. If Shorey/Rindaroy/Whoever gets injured, we can just bring Brap back.

1 left back, loan him out, sound football management

I actually think its great idea to send bennett out. As much as hes our only left back, hes been injured for 18 months, so will need abit of time to build his match fitness, and get used to playing regular football at a decent level.

Hes barely played in the championship, so its better for him to ease back into it at a level hes acustomed to- and the build from there. So hopefully he'll be sent to a league 1 club.

Davies said it will only be till january, so I think he'll be looking to jules to be the lb back up or fight his way back into the team.

timing is just w**k. announce it after you've announced the signing of a left back, every fan of the club has been begging for a left back and they're talking about sending out the only one we have, I know he isn't fit, I know he's only played a small amount of games, but do things in a more positive order.

 Ironic isn't it! Cos it screws what you already have.

Yeah, true enough :)

But at least, it puts bennett out there earlier and if the club would've bought someone in earlier- it would've seemed like a replacement for bennett (which it probably will be anyway).

Whereas now, bennett should be feeling like they will just be filling in for him and hes got something to fight for whilst hes away and when he returns.

Obviously, thats all a big assumption on my part :)

This has also been confirmed on Julian Bennett's facebook profile for what its worth.

I think its a great move personally (assuming we are bringing someone in to cover) and can only be good for all concerned.

Does bennett say what he thinks about the idea?

obviously not fancied by billy, the fitness thing is crap as he will be as fit as the rest of the players as he has had full pre season doesnt matter how long he has been out the rest of the players havent played for 5/6 weeks . i presume we must have 2 left backs lined up or is there a decent youngster to come through and 1 decent 1 coming in.

From the man himself:
"the rumours are true, I could be going out on loan. Just to regain my match fitness. It's down to me now to make a decision, this doesn't mean I'm leaving for good. You heard it here first!!!!"

"I have been out for a while and its been the worst time of my career so far! I just want to get back in the side and be fully fit. Going out on loan can only increase my chances, it wont be in the same league as Forest anyway."

followed by

"He knows how fit I am, he is my boss. He wants me to go out and get 'match fit'. Who wants a player to come straight into a team that hasn't played for over 18 months with 10 other players that have played with each other week in week out for that time?"

Good idea, nice to see Jules is up for it as well.

There's a difference between having 5 weeks rest after a 9 month season and missing 18 months due to a serious knee injury.

Bennett will be as physically fit as anyone, perhaps fitter if he's being doing lots of gym work but there's no telling how his knee will hold up to the grind of 2 games a week. It's better for the club for him to go through that process elsewhere. Besides, if we bring in a quality LB then Bennett might only be a bit part player here, which is not really what he needs after losing 18 months of his career.

I suppose if nobody wants him, he can always play in the cup games.

That said, you'd think that there'd be a few League 1 clubs that remember him from when we were down there. They'd know what he's capable of.
