Jules and Garner

LAEFC

A. Trialist
Does anyone know how Bennet and Garner are getting on out on loan? I see Joe hasn't scored is he playing well? Would be nice to hear they're performing well and will come back to us in good form! Or are their moves likely to become permanant?

Yeah, I think Garner is struggling - Benno was certainly playing last week against QPR and was unlucky not to grab a goal.

I have been informed by a Huddersfield supporting friend that Garner has looked very poor so far in a Huddersfield shirt, poor attitude and is likely to return to Forest in January.

I liked Garner a lot when he first came back from injury but he doesn't look like he's going to fulfil any of his potential at all which is a real shame.

I was talking to a Crystal palace fan at work last week and he said from what he's heard they want to keep bennet permanent! I for one have always liked Jules in the red of Forest and hope he comes back!

Bennet back in time for the end of Berty loan?

Surprised Garner has not scored goals and spent most of the time on the bench there, as he's definitely more than good enough at that level. Maybe it was the wrong loan for him? From what I hear Bennett's been doing alright at Palace

Hopefully we can keep Bertrand for the rest of the season so we won't need Bennett back.

So we dont need a cover left back, if Bertrand picks up suspension or injury?

Could Bertrand play left 'Wong'? I'm just musing over alternatives if no-one comes on loan or perm in Jan for that position.
I'm a big fan of Jules and fully buy into the philosophy of having 'Local Lads' in the team, Bertrand has the confidence and skills and with Jules tucked in behind him could be a plausible option.

Bertie started out as a winger, it would be interesting to see him deployed there if we had a viable left back..

Bertrand a la Gareth Bale

Well even if he does play there we still need a left winger and/or a left back. Preferably both for ample cover.

If Palace want to keep him for the rest of the season then I think it would be best for both clubs and Jules.

He's still only started four games in the last 18 months, and even if he gets to 15 or 16 starts by the time January comes around, it still isn't a lot of football. He needs time on the pitch and it wouldn't be good for him to be warming the bench for us in a position where you don't exactly make tactical substitutions.

This is a shame for Garner, even though he has been massively over-hyped by some forest fans he still should be able to prove his quality in that division as he's done it before. If he can't 'get it together' before this spell ends then he'll sink without a trace.
