Jota Silva

As I've said before, there are those who hate the idea that EM owns more clubs, complain about Forest, and grumble that EM only cares about the Premier, and there are those who see the benefits of multi-club ownership (which are not obvious when one looks at individual transfers, but are, I think, tangible, when one factors in relationships with the agents' market and other key players in international football).
I see Olympiacos are busy in the market right now, Seems like you have a bit of money to spend this summer too.

Tom Collomose of the Daily Mail says hes joining the Olympiacos guys tomorrow.

I suppose that one reason might be the tightly controlled squads these days where numbers allowed are much smaller than in the past.

Was amazed he did not go to a top Championship club, as could see him proving he could make in in England and then maybe get into the Premier League that way. Like most here, really think we would have been better off with him with us last season. Would have offered far more than most of the other players. Abnyway, hope he proves us wrong by letting him go as he always woked his bollocks off and tried to make things happen.

Why would he go & play in the Championship?

He is far better than that level

His level is the Portuguese league. The Championship is tougher, but ultimately not nearly as good. The Greek league is below his level as well, so I'm sure he'll smash it here.

Currently watching Jota playing his first game for Oly. He was on the bench for some reason, but came on 10 minutes ago as they're still at 0-0 vs Nijmegen after 73 minutes. He's playing at AMC, or 2nd forward, behind El Kaabi, and has been positioning himself well to get into chances. The issue is that they aren't really creating much.

Strangely enough, we will immediately trigger the option to buy Jota Silva (the sum has not been disclosed), and the player will sign a long-term contract with us. Given that Carmo is technically on loan from you until January (when the obigation to buy for a reported 9m euros will be triggered), and Gustavo Sá is also on loan from you, I suspect that the change in Jota Silva's status is related to the need to allow for another loan (there's a limit of three loans from one team to another).

Won't be a popular opinion but this isn't the way to successfully run an MCO. It's a mess.

More than a mess, it constitutes an utter failure of the two other clubs (Rio Ave and us) to find adequate players in the market. We've been trying to get Gustavo Puerta for about a month now. Well, hello, if you cannot get your first target move on to the next one, don't wait for the rich cousin to lend you money.

It also means if Carmo is initially on loan we're at the limit for international loans when Bakwa's is confirmed.

Carmo
Sa
Jota
Cuiabano
Moreira
Bakwa
