If you really believe man walked on the moon 40 years ago then you will be telling me next that Derby will be winning the Championship this season!!!

Those footprints were left forty years ago and they are still there. I have never believed we got there.

I won't write him off as he has shown moments of true quality. However, I have no problems starting the season with him as long as Bennett comes back into the team at some point.

Overall though....another position solved. Centre-half please and then we're done.

Even though we placed laser panels up there which you can see and bounce light off?

I don't think Bennett will ever come back in the team. In all honesty the guy is not good enough and if you look back at some of the comments on here from before his injury you will see that he was not universally appreciated.

Lots of heart but not great skill. Maybe Notts will buy him!

I refuse to believe this until it is confirmed by Dadford.

This has been confirmed by a shelf stacker at my local Tesco. Good enough for me.

Agreed Alabama. I think this season all he will be is back up.By the time he gets back from injury hopefully we are on a roll and he wont be needed. Possibly on loan to Coventry in Jan when we buy all there defenders.

I think he'll get his chance, nobody quite knows what he can do at this level and after all, last season he remained fit through he got player of the year and made the leagues team of the year.

Having said that I prefer Lynch there but Bennett I think could do a job if needed which mean Lynch could also be pushed inside to what he considers his natural position of centre back if required.

Good point Bennett lots of heart low on skill and a liability at times at best a Div 1 defender certainly not Championship level could be Svens first purchase for the Mags

Lets not be too harsh, Bennett seriously improved in League one after a spell of being rubbish. I'm sure Billy Davies will admire his passion and agression and try and utilise this on the pitch. Lynch has a spell of being considerably gash, then BD got hold of him and things started going lovely.

I'm not being blinkered with this view, i know he is not amazing, but don't write him off until he has been given a decent chance by Davies :)

I'm sure Bennett will be given a chance , if there's one thing that Billy seemed to like to see in his players and that's 100% effort and Bennett will definitely give that.
As long as Bennett knuckle down and work hard , i see no reason why he can't come back better than ever. However , one year out is really quite a long while. Is going to take him a while to get back to full speed.

Jesus oh, another signing with more to follow.

There is more men signing on at the City Ground than there is at the dole office.
