I genuinely liked both of them when they were here.

Garner in particular seemed to have something about him, he scored some great goals - the goals both at home and away to Southampton were stunning, and I will always remember his goal away at Man City.

Glad to see both doing well.

Agreed - was always particularly disappointed that Garner didn't make more of an impact. Seemed to have it all when he arrived. Maybe if he had come in at a time when we were playing with more confidence he would've done the job.

No wonder my post count..
I really can't work out why Garner didn't shine more under Billy. He scored a couple of beauts against Southampton in the 08/09 season, but never anything else. He obviously had the ability, but I think it may have been an attitude type of thing.

I liked Garner - got his name on the back of my Forest shirt one season!!!

Sadly he didn't work out for us (although arguably not given enough of a run in his preferred position)

Sad that he failed after a big investment on a league 1 player - this should probably be a cautionary tale to people who bemoan Fawaz for not splashing millions on league 1 talent (Like Sako who is now a firm fixture on Wolves bench?!?)

Hope Garner comes good though.

Sako would have been a disaster. I hope to f*** we don't go back in for him. Thankfully no mention of him this time. I hope Wolves realise what wankers they are for not biting our hands off for him. Miller II.

I really rated garner too. I thought he was a really natural footballer. I think his attitude (maybe his lack of athleticism too) have played a bit of a part in his failings but I am sure he will be back in the championship at some point and do well.

I was right in line with his goal at Southampton. That was ace. And yet as Calderwood got the boot after the next match, it was pretty much the end for him at Forest.

It was a shame that was Derby. You can break the commentary for that goal in half and you still have two stand alone classic pieces of commentary. As eleven words in a row, it is hard to beat. He has raised his game to a level the rest can't touch there. There is even a voice break. Love Barry Davies. The G.O.A.T of football commentators.

Incidentally, what is with the 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at Man City v Derby?

One less gobshite...
It only really stopped in the early 80s when the cockneys started the 'sign on' chant to that tune. It slowly became Liverpool's own anthem.

I wish people would stop singing 'sign on' - it was sung on Sat at Bolton. Unemployment in Nottingham: 5.3% - Bolton: 4.1%.
