wonder if there has been some sort of clash? or is it just that tyson n earnshaw are too in form to be dropped? not going to be happy keep being a sub.

Imagine the latter - Earnie and Tys are delivering the goods, which means Joe needs to prove himself when he gets his chance - that's a good healthy situation at a football club :)

Aye tis, shame for Joe though who himself went through a good scoring run before Christmas.

Remember that Garner is a young lad that has just overcome a serious knee injury. He didn't have pre-season and would make sense not to burn him out, when we have Tyson and Earnshaw are both playing well.

Also Davies has spoken quite openly about the fact we need some experience and Earnshaw and Tyson are the oldest players in the squad along with Breckin.

I didn't understand the decision to bring on Garner so late against Derby... 90 minutes, maybe even later?

I think he's a really good player at this level; he's got skill, and he also gets stuck in. He knows how to play the game, and he'll show up clumsy defenders to get us free kicks etc.

Would like to have seen him on earlier.

He got 'dropped' for the Norwich game, since then we've been playing well with both Tyson and Earnie scoring.

It's a bit shit for him as he'd done nowt wrong beforehand but them's the breaks.

With Tys and Earnie in good form, and forming a pretty decent partnership, Joe will have to be patient.
Cracking player as Joe is, He'll get his chance!

He'll get his chance again, we've only really got three strikers and with Tyson's fitness record it'd be a surprise (albeit a pleasant one) if he avoided any niggles between now and the end of the season.

Plus he offers something a bit different to Tyson and Earnshaw so that also works in his favour.

i hope he gets his chance i'm sure he will, i think he will take it aswell he seems like the type of player that will grasp opportunities when they come his way, i really like him he looks 2 be a great young player thats not affraid to get stuck in

Tys and Earnie are in excellent form at present, so why change it. I imagine if we were playing crap again Joe would have started a couple of games.
He has quite a few more seasons in front of him, so makes sense to bring him back in slowly.

The good thing about Joe is he likes to get physical, so he is ideal to bring on as a sub.

Tyson is Billy's favorite , he's the only striker currently that will play 90 minutes barring injuries. Earnie always gets taken off for Garner.

As good a player as he is, Earnie's not struck me as someone who can keep going for the full 90.

Don't get me wrong he keeps trying, but towards the end of a few games recently he's looked a bit knackered.

That's what I love to see at a footy match, players dead on there feet at the end of a match, it shows they have put 100% in on the day.....

Garner has got age on his side, no need to rush him into the team. A great future player who needs to be eased in. We must remember that his fitness still won't be 100% yet. He can only get better and I can't wait :)

The decision is purely to stop the flow of the game ease the pressure and waste a little more time, thats why Earnie was ambling off and milking the applause, then the 'ref' hurried him along

Exactly, a pure footballing decision not everything has to be down to disputes etc.

Pure time wasting.

For what ever reason and results at the moment say that BD has the mix right up front, things may change in the future. I like Garner, but he has to start to learn to behave himself, far too many time she concedes silly needless freekicks with silly challenges and antics.

The only thing that worries me, but he is young enough to learn, a prime example of stupidity tonight was that fool Jeffers, letting his team mates, travelling fans and himself down by getting sent off.

Garner's other problem is his temper; yet again tonight he got himself booked for over-aggression, with the result - as it's his fifth yellow of the season - that he now misses the Derby game.
