doughty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've heard reliable rumours that Doughty is backing Billy, so let's not panic Mr Mannering and let them get on with the job in hand! Remember the Transfer window is technically not open yet!
it may well have done, the fact that no announcement has been made could be for many reasons. However I will point out a few little facts...Widdow said:In reality it had, Manc City and Real Madrid (if Ronaldo signs) have spent over £150 million between them already. Also we had brought Earnshaw by this time last season!
Like I said, I hope this is the season Doughty bites the bullet and gives us the funds to make a real impact!

Two scenarios to consider:-
1. Doughty goes cavalier and gamles everything he can on getting us to the Premier League. The signings BD makes are sound, but due to a run of bad luck with injuries and suspenisons, the season doesn't go according to plan, leaving us stuck in mid-table with an unsustainable debt and the clubs crown jewels are sold off once again as we plummet back to league 1.
2. Doughty spends sensibly, refusing to pay over-inflated prices/salaries, but still getting a few quality additions in, we don't achieve promotion, but a mid-table finish gives us a platform to build on for the next season.

Lord Wotton - Davies Out said:I'm seriously considering starting to follow Newcastle - they are a really big club who will sign players. We just pretend.
Widdow said:Ashley may have been cavalier, he may have wore the shirt, they did spend a lot of money and they do pay sill amount of wages. He annoyed the fans with the silly appointment of Wise, Kinnear didn’t help, but he got rid of Big Sam (who was not one of his appointments) and brought in Keegan, and finally bowed to the pressure, and gave them Shearer.
Ultimately his decisions ended up in relegation to the championship and now he is only doing what the fans what him to do and sell up and get out of toon!
Doughty, has never been cavalier, too business like to wear the shirt. We have spent approx £17,500,000 on transfer fees and in that time we have recouped approx £29 million (plus don’t forget all the sell on fees with Marlon King, Andy Reid, Jermaine Jenas, Marlon Harewood) which takes that well over an incredible £30 million! We have probably received double what we have spent since the start of 1999!!
So we have had to sell or release our best players, and replace them with inferior players that fitted within our strict Salary wage cap and transfer budget and not pay over the odds for transfer fees and wages!
For Dennis Wise, read David Pleat. Doughtys massive lack of football knowledge means he seeks advice from “cold war” Pleat, and to do the deals he relies on Mark Arthur, his Commander in Chief, the chap who runs the show and takes the flak in the absence of the public shy Chairman!
Doughtys main aim was to reduce the wages, and balance the books – yets still last since we were losing more than £135,000 a week, so hasnt even acheived that. A club being run badly on and off the pitch! Why is the club losing over £7 million a year. Its not the fans, the managers, the players or the tea laddies fault is it?
When looking for new managers, he has never bowed to the Forest fans or listened to their opinions on which manager we would like to see at the club. He always knows best and has not been very successful in his decisions!
And even if we do balance the books, its not as if we can Parade our Bank Balance on an open top bus around Nottingham!
He said he would sooner gove money to charity than overpaid footballers. In January the club spent nothing, they did offer approx £1 million for the likes of Adebola, Rob Jones and Croft, all rejected as derisroy offers. In Feb he and his wife kindly gave that £1 million to charity (over 4 years),
I believe we havent seen Doughty’s passion and ambition...yet. One can question his mangerial appointments and his forethought. His fans interaction is appalling – how often do we hear from him? Even Arthur rarely comments nowadays
We say the same thing every season ... We have blamed everyone over the years, managers, players, but they have all left yet we still have the same problem. Changing the manager seems to have been short-term answer to a long-term problem.
And ultimately he was the Chairman whose decisions took us to League One, and watched us for 3-seasons struggling to get out of it, and last season very nearly back into it!
As Ive said before, and yes I am flogging a dead horse but he club has always been afraid to speculate to accumulate... and they get what they deserve.
I hope this year’s its different and we see the cavalier ambitious Doughty, as the careful shy one simply hasn’t worked and with Billy Davies at the helm I am sure he would be happy to spend big, and If he has got it right with Billy Davies, then Doughty must fully back him!
Widdow said:As I have said he hasnt had much success with his current strategy, so maybe is the time to spend big.
weasel said:Yet more tripe. What about thse gems that the current system have come up with?
Player of the year: Chris Cohen.
Top Goalscorer: Robert Earnshaw
Young talented prospect: Joe Garner
Loan players: Gunter, Osbourne, Blackstock - all class, and kept us up
Now contrast this approach with.....
Dadi, Eaden, Curtis, Impey, Rogers, Evans.......
Since we took this approach it has correlated with the most successful 2 years we've had in a long long time, yet the same people singing Earnshaw and Cohen's names are aiming abuse at David Pleatt. And another thing! We've lodged £4m pounds worth of bids ALREADY! We spent about the same last year. It's unprecedented spending levels for a club just out of League One, and it's coming completely and utterly out of the chairman's pocket in a time of recession.
To criticise what's going on and still want more is mad, illogical, greedy, ungrateful, stupid and ignorant.

Rumours are one thing but you would think people would have learnt by now not to put their collective choppers on the block and put deadlines/dates on these moves. Having said that, you can just take each rumour with a pinch of salt and sit tight as its far less stressful.
