Jammy away?

I don't go to away games, but does anybody think we're a bit lucky away of late? Should Billy be changing anything perhaps? I'm just thinking that away at Sheffield and at Watford, it sounded like we were hanging on and were lucky.

Maybe we should try to play a bit more football? I know, if it ain't broke and all that, it just feels a bit erm ... unsustainable to keep getting the luck.

Meanwhile, I expect we'll kick arse later today, You Reds!

Luck or hard work?

You pick the two biggest and most direct teams in the league and then wonder if we should play more football against them.

At Swansea or Cardiff we were able to play football because their game allows for it.

Ah, i'd not realised that. I suppose there isn't any more effective way of dealing with such teams then ...

When we were under pressure then, was them just launching the ball forward all the time?

In which case you are basing your opinion on your interpretation of someone else's imterpretation of the game!

Good solid reasoning!

There comes a bit of luck when winning just about any game, whether it be a deflection or favourable refereeing decision.

We haven't always been fantastic away, we were pretty sub par for the most part against Sheffield United, but what we do now have is a certain resilliance which allows us to put in a below par performance yet still come away with some form of reward.

It's something we've been missing for eons.

we gave watford a good run for there money and ground out a good point, there pitch was awefull so there was no way you could play football on it, when we tried passes where a yard short, maybe this was due to bad passing or lazy play but even the watford players st rugled with it. I think your reading to much into it tbh and radio nottingham can have a habit of making us sound worse than we actually are as it can make us sound better than we where.

important thing is we are 2 points off automatic and have stayed unbeaten away from home for half a season, lucky or not I'm more than happy

Unbeaten away from home for the best part of 9 months.

I don't think luck has had a major role in a run that long. Maybe the odd game. But not for 9 months.

How about we give the management and players the credit?

I think it was a golfer who said something along the lines of 'the more I practice, the luckier I get' - but the principle still applies.

It's a combination of luck, hard work and solid team work.

We've become hard to beat and hard to break down, which is something Forest sides haven't been for quite some time now.

Against Cardiff and Swansea we were able to play our passing game as that's what they do as well, whereas against Watford, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace, we had to be more compact and strong as we were dealing with big, physical sides.
