He may be a decent player now and would be great to have in the side now if we are to push for promotion but he won't be leaving Liverpool in January.

Taking on another 34/35 year old would be another backward step for this club especially if we do go up this season. We don't want someones 35 year olds cast offs especially in the prem. We are a progressive club and I for one would like to see it kept that way.

Nah, you're about right mate, I was pretty much joking. Although we do need defenders, and we keep being surprised with the quality we're bringing in, so you never quite know.
