Firstly, same agent as Danilo & Morato.

Secondly, he only joined Botofogo in Februrary for about £10m so won't be cheap - also owned by Textor who owns Lyon who we ripped off last summer. Apparently Textor promised him a move to Lyon when signing for Botafogo but both are now skint.

Thirdly, don't mind if I do! That sort of player is right up our street. Similar to Murillo looks like we are trying to get in early.

Ah, so it's always amortized even if payment is in full?
Yes. Amortisation evenly over the life of the contract, regardless of whatever payment schedule has been agreed with the selling club. Otherwise, it would yet another means of circumnavigating PSR by structuring deals with bubble payments at the back end, to keep accounting figures low in the early years of a contract.

You need to go to South America to get value for money these days. The European market is flooded with over-priced average players, and the decent ones want wages that are totally out of our league.

This lad looks the real deal. (y)

Thanks for the info.

Love to see us moving in the market early.

Am I right in thinking any deals done before the end of June go in the previous year's PSR calculations?

We might agree the deals early but I think there is next to zero chance the Botofogo duo join before the Club World Cup if they agree a deal.

Unless they are using these deals to fund signing Ronaldo which has been rumoured.

Like the look of this lad.

Important question though: is it Jair to rhyme with chair or Ja-ir to rhyme with Zaire?

The Jesus article read said it was agreed/paid now to join after the club world cup. God bless.

This looks way more exciting to me than the striker we're apparently signing from them tbh. However, I hope it's not in preparation for Murillo (or Milenkovic) leaving. Retaining our defensive unit as it is is vital to achieving success next season. If this is just strengthening, I'm all for it.

Yes, maybe to join them in a 3 man defence

It probably is but not in the near future you’d hope. Lad’s only 19, might take him a while to get up to the level required, same for Tyler Bindon. Just good succession planning from the club.

The only thing taking the sting out of a probable MGW departure is getting another year of watching Murillo, can’t see the big man selling both in the same window.
