Jair Paula da Cunha Filho OF BRASIL!

Go on then, who reckons he'll end up better than Murillo?*

*Disclaimer, I didn't see the game today, I just like to stir the pot.

I don't think there is a single aspect of his game that is poor, he is consistently good at everything.

He dealt with constant difficult switches of player from Spurs that were just over his head whilst running backwards which is probably the hardest balls to deal with.

The more you see of him the better he gets, I don't see a world where he isn't a starter by the end of the season, he is too good.

If he doesn't have the injury issues that Murillo seems to be having, then, yes. As Notcher said, theres something of a young John Stones about him.

Called up to the Brazil squad, incredible news. Fully deserved, Murillo needs to work harder then ever now Jair has overtaken him in Brazil’s thinking.
I've no doubt whatsoever that Murillo will get back to being the great player we know he is once his fitness issues have been sorted. As for his international experience, he wasn't helped by being chucked into a particularly poor Brazil side in a highly-charged game against their biggest rivals, Argentina, who in contrast, were a very good side at that time. Hopefully, Jair won't be expected to sink-or-swim in the same way.

I look forward to the pair eventually forming Brazil's central defense whilst still playing for us.

I love a defender, and I love this young man.

Keep it up son, the world is your oyster!

Entirely selfishly, working for a large German conglomerate who has a significant presence in Brasil, and as someone who - on a weekly basis - enjoys plenty of football-related banter with my Brasilian colleagues, I would die a happy man if this happened.

Two Forest Men at the back for the Canarinho? You can inject that right into my veins.

I'm not willing this to happen as I love the Serb nutjob but unless his form improves we may even see Cunha stepping into the centre with Diomande and Murillo either side
