Jacob Murphy

I must be in the minority as I think he would be a good addition to our squad. Obviously OG must have sanctioned the transfer
Hes a good RWB backup if we pay under 10 mill. We have 4 wing backs though so it makes zero sense and if he is bought in to be a number 10 option than that is incredibly shite as he is never a number 10 in his life.

Whats the Geordies making of this? I bet you all cant believe you aint sold him.

I think it's just the timing that makes keeping him almost seem sensible, the money being mentioned is probably more than I'd value him at and then some, and we won't get anywhere near £15m for him next summer, but it would be leaving Elanga as our only specialist RW.

He's also one of the leadership group, we have a very young squad so could do with keeping some senior pros around

Good insight. Thanks

Tell you who's good in the dressing room, someone you should get - JLings.

Inside left in proper football parlance 😁
Well, quite.

My point was that it's rather a made up position, played by a mixture of what we could call attacking midfielders, wingers, strikers, etc.

Most people would call Ismaila Sarr a winger, certainly that is what Liverpool think he is if they want to sign him up to play on the wing.

But hang on, he plays for Palace who play a 3-4-3 and they don't have wingers do they? How does that possibly work?

Don’t worry we’ll likely be back in January with £20M

He played as a right sided No10 for Palace

Hmm. Not letting useful squad players go until you've got a replacement sorted. What a wild idea.

Sarr is an inside forward and a winger. Jacob Murphy I promise you is not and never will be an inside forward and number 10. He isn’t quick enough now and his finishing isn’t good enough. He is a decent wing back winger backup which is why for us it’s strange

It doesn't make any sense to me.

Ok for a £10m but to get rid of 2 right wingers to bring in a 30 year old wing back and then a 31 year old right winger when we've shown no sign of using wingers this season?

What do I know?

Get CHO to play there. He has before and it would cost us nothing.
