Nottingham Forest are weighing up a move for Scunthorpe defender Izzy Iriekpen. The 26-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has been transfer listed following his refusal to sign a new deal at Glanford Park.And the former Swansea man has been told he will not play for Nigel Adkins' side again with the club desperate to get the central defender off the wage bill.

Forest boss Billy Davies is desperate to bolster his defensive options with Iriekpen high on the wanted list.

But the Scot could face a challenge from Championship rivals Doncaster and Swansea.

He was Swansea's best player while he was there. Scunthorpe's captain then wanted a move handed in a transfer request was stripped of his captaincy told hewouldn't play for the club again. And bought his contract out with Scunthorpe to move elsewhere.

Capello posted a while back, iirc, that you were interested in a player with initials I.. I... who he couldn't quite remember. Inigo Idialez was the only one I could think of, but Iriekpen fits the bill.

Yes hessaid this was the guy that was mentioned, but was just by word of mouth. He didnt give it his seal of approval as such.

On Scunny website it said Scottish press are saying he has signed for an SPL team until the end of the season.
