I've watched Forest since 1977 and...........

that is the loudest the City Ground has ever been full stop.

Forget about when we were European Champions - only the old Trent End sang in those days and Bridgford was open terrace anyway

I have been every season since then and never have so many fans got behind the team like they did last night

We have our matches with Derby and at times we make a lot of noise - but they have more of their own fans and we don't have so many joining in

Brilliant atmosphere which we may never beat to be honest - you don't get home games with so much at stake like that other than Premier League playoffs and I hope we don't have to go through them again

Has to be top two or not at all next year for me

(sorry just seen the other best fans thread) Flagman mentioned best atmosphere since when we had terracing - we might have had more fans then but no roof to keep the noise in on the biggest terracing and like I say only the Trent End sang anywayin the glory days

Very few grounds I have ever been to have fans singing in every stand - Leeds spring to mind as one but very few others

Who will BooBaby boo?
The loudest i've heard was for the return of border collymore but that only lasted a few minutes. Over the whole game though, I agree, it was good last night. The usual exodus of Fair Weather Fans dampened the atmosphere but this time my wish came true - they missed a forest goal.

I have watched Forest since well before 1977 and I think you are very wrong.

The terracing part of the East Stand used to create some great noise; I watched the Cologne game from there.

I also remember being in that ground with close on 50000 others; now that was an atmsphere.

I was at Cologne game - one of the greatest matches ever at Forest

Sat in A block Main Stand - nobody sang in the seats at all in those days

If you wanted to sing you went in Trent End - I do remember singing in the terrace you describe but none in the seats above the terrace

And def any noise from Bridgford End (which is not where you went to sing) was lost as it had no roof

If you went in the Bridgford End in those days you were either boring or too young or too old for the roughhouse of the trent end

Now that was a big terrace so you have a huge part of your crowd making no noise at all - away fans could not make noise without the roof as well in there

I know what you mean about atmosphere - Cologne was electric but I am talking about sheer noise

Last night we had 4 stands all with roofs all singing at once and only 2000 away fans in the ground

We never got that much singing involvement or even close to that noise even in the glory days

Was it the Liverpool home game where we had all the young fans lifted out of the terrace and sat around the sides or the pitch ??
