18,000 for our game.

For the rest of the season, it holds the preliminary rounds of the One Man and His Dog competition.

What confusion ? I would imagine Forest fans will be able to sit where they like again like last time, I personally sat in the Kop and didn't get any hassle either off stewards or Notts Fans

It's a bit of an injoke from around this time last year.

Josh only comes on here preseason, and it seems that this year he's developed a sense of humour! :hey:

If you got relegated, would you become the 'Oldest Non League Club in the World'? And who would then take the title of Oldest League Club?

I need answers.

Stoke City are next then Forest. :naughty:

Stoke claim to be established in 1863 but they can't prove they existed before Forest. They have no documents or any public record information confirming there existence.

Notts County's first game was against Nottingham Forest in 1865 so it does seem strange that they never played Stoke in the two years they existed.

Also as a side note, Notts County are the oldest Association Football team in the world. Sheffield FC played Sheffield Rules and later converted to Association Rules well after the formation of the Football League.

Wasn't there another team in Stoke that started out but never got anywhere, the exact same set up started again and made a better fist of it the second time but claimed it was the same club all along, something like that anyway is what I though happened.

No it was Leicester City, in 2002, to avoid paying the bills.

No they did just change their name.

Stoke City were a new club who decided they weren't a new club because they'd tried before.

Off the wall example but say you started a Sunday league team and ran it for three years, disbanded it to start a new one but had all the same players your club as such wuld be one year old, Stoke did this and claimed they were four or something similar to that. I can't remember exactly what happened but it was similar to that and I'm too lazy to look it up although I'm sure if you put it into google something will come up.

I've never understood how Notts were the professional club. Who did you play against?

They're the oldest club in the world that is currently professional not the first professional club.
