Vital QPR has learned that Dexter Blackstock could have been on his way to a Championship rival in the January transfer window.

Sources close to the club have revealed to Vital QPR that Dexter was the subject of a bid from Nottingham Forest in this year`s January transfer window - however the deal was scuppered due to an injury to fellow forward Patrick Agyemang.

The injury took place in training on Wednesday January 7, putting pay to any deal for Blackstock to move to the City Ground.

This news comes as Blackstock revealed to Ben Kosky of the Kilburn Times that he is yet to pen a new deal at Loftus Road:

No wonder my post count..
I find it weird how they keep referring to the team as "The R's"

Eastwood Red

Grenville Morris
Would be a good signing.

As another option, Blackstock would be a very good signing.

My QPR mate really likes him, but just wishes they'd buy someone to play up top with him.

One of my favourite names in football, I would have been elated if we'd got him.

Good striker, too. It could fit in with that 'Doughty interview' on another forum that said we had other, unreported, targets.

I am fairly sure he was fairly good on some football management game or other.

It is indeed a great name.

If true , don't think this is a Davies signing. The article mentioned that it was scuppered by the injury on 7th january which means that the bid came before that.
Billy at that time , was still evaluating the team and yet to taken charge of a forest game.

I remember Billy only said , i think , after the plymouth or the derby match about going to talk to the chairman about transfers targets and that was way after the 7th of january.

This would have been a calderwood target or perhaps the chairman.

Would like him here, He's a proven championship player. Seen him play for Plymouth against us a few years back, i left the city ground impressed.

Would be a nice pairing. -~~~~~~~Earnshaw~~~~Blackstock~~~~~~~-

Well Calderwood was working his way through the Southampton and ex Southampton strikers book - McGoldrick, Best, Blackstock. I think Walcott slipped by!

if southampton go down, mcgoldrick wants to come back to nottingham

aye i know he ain't all that good but he is apparently on about coming back to nottingham, well maybe the east midlands

So he wants to come back to Nottingham probably because his mates at Forest have told him about their crazy nights out and how they can eat what they want etc.

In light of what Billy says I doubt that scenario will be allowed to play out.

It might be the much heralded local boys for a local team that many were so excited about when it was all going so well at the end of last season that have seen us get into this mess now.

How many times did I hear the PR guy ask CC "how important is it that you have so many Nottingham boys playing in the same team?" and the response "it's really great etc etc". I want him to ask Billy how he thinks this Nottingham culture is impacting how current prediciment and if it is part of the "off field discpline" problem we currently have?!

This is exactly what I said about the whole Nottingham players situation over a year ago. People shot me down for it.
