"Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has admitted an interest in signing Aston Villa midfielder Isaiah Osbourne."

I don't think we'd be interested anymore anyway would we? We want defenders ...

Still, will add something to the home game next week if he goes there :)

Not particularly. He came in on loan to us, it was never going to be permanent. He did a job and went back to his parent club, who can loan him to whoever they want!

Osbourne was drafted in to do a job.

He did it, but I didnt really rate him.

So im going to stick my neck on the line and say I hope we dont buy him.

Really?

I was impressed with him to be honest. He could always bring loose balls down from the air (rather than heading them inaccurately away)... he seemed to distribute the ball well, and found good space off the ball.

He wasn't really a stand-out player as such, but got all the basics right and was pretty useful in that respect.

Agreed, I thought he looked good young player, and would have been a good signing

People dont know what there watching, and get all excited over Moose.

This guy is a better all round player in what we saw from him and would be a solid move for us or any other Championship side, I rated him.

He was obviously still inexperienced and didn't really play well for 90 minutes...however he was clearly better than any of our other midfielders.

He had that ability to play a forward pass. You wouldn't think it was that difficult but having watched Perchy played out of position there for years it's quickly apparant when a natural midfielder takes on the role and starts things going. It was similar when watching Neil Lennon, the class just shone.

Surely it's pointless discussing this now. We have McKenna, Majewski, Cohen, McGugan and Moussi in that position.

It will take a lot to oust Raddy or McKenna at the moment, and from there I still think Cohen and Lewis are miles better than Osbourne.

End of!

He was twice the player Moussi is, Osbourne was very good at getting the ball and giving it to a player, what impressed me the most was his ability to man mark, against Coventry he picked up that Morrinson and Eastwood thousands of times and he was one of the reasons they didn't get much of a sniff, I think Moussi is good, good enough for bottom half of the Championship, if rumours are correct that were converting him to a center back then we should really get some cover for the defensive midfielder position and Osbourne would be perfect for that, a young player who could flourish from McKenna's tutoring and experience.

Not too sure about this one, Osbourne was a different class for us when he showed up. He is also a different player from both Cohen and McGugan as he is predominantly a defensive midfielder, anchor role if you will. He is therefore more appropriately compared to Moussi and McKenna, for which I feel he is a more effective replacement for McKenna than Moussi.

I rated Ozzie too. He was a master at nicking the ball - I feel that we would have room for him in the squad. Will get better but still oozes class.

Osbourne was one of BD's A list of transfer targets. O'Neil whilst happy to loan him to Forest, was keen to the keep lad as a Villa player, but that was in the summer and we are now in September

Read somewhere that he doesn't get along with Billy and the fact that we don't guarantee him a regular place makes it VERY unlikely.
