Without getting too carried away. OK getting slightly carried away as the title asks.

Is it the most exciting times as a Forest fan for years?.

For many years, yes. Let's face it, we've had years and years of turgid abject shit.

Agreed Winnits.
The last time I remember feeling as high as this was when Huckerby was here the night we dipped the sheep 3-0 at the CG.

Yes, yes, and thrice yes. I thought tonight for the first time this season "we could go up automatically!" where before, I was thinking we'd be certainties for playoff, and possible winners. Of course teams below us have games in hand, but points in the bag are better than those!

Abso-bloody-lutely.

That was great - made all the better for being a night game.

Whatever happens with our remaining games this season has had some tremendous moments, and I'm sure Billy isn't satisfied with what he's achieved so far...

First went to watch Forest in November 1976.

best era.. Cloughie (1977-1980)

2nd best Frank Clark... promotion , 3rd in Prem (Mr Collymore was sublime)

3rd Best Cloughie.. 1988-1993 all the cup finals/semi-finals..

4th best (and rising) is NOW.

Too young for your #1, but I'd rank the remainder in the same order.

I'm sure BD will say that weve achieved nothing yet this season.

The one thing we have done is make a statement to the rest of the league.

Christ alive Jellyhead that is exactly the same order as what I would put it in.

Should really clarify my earlier post

Best era... Clough and Taylor 1977-1980.

--------------

to drag myself out of nostalgia for a minute though,,, its not just the results we are getting.. its the performances.. i watched the game with an Arsenal fan in the pub tonight, and when the 2nd and 3rd goals went in.. he was bouncing around as much as the rest of us.,., it really is some cracking football we are playing

Spot on!

And yes to the question.

I would put it up higher than the promotion year under FC, but not quite as high as the 3rd in Prem finish under Frank.
It's all about exceeding expectations. We were nearly bloody relegated 9 months ago!. Anyone remember that? it seems an age away!

Having tasted the bitter for so many years, the sweet tastes so much sweeter.

I was too young also for the Clough / Taylor years, so I would go with

1st - Cloughie 88-92, 3rd placed finishes, Wembley as a 2nd home, and a team full of England internationals (Pearce, Walker, Webb, Hodge, Clough and erm.....Charles!)

2nd - Clark 93-96, 3rd place finish, promotion, best British team in Europe, and a certain SVC.

3rd (and rising) - Davies 2009-, currently 2nd spot in the Championship after the dire stuff we've had served up under Pratt, Hart's last 5 months, Joke-in-Ear, Mugson and Calderdud, we're playing some of the best Forest football seen for over 15 years, and the legend that is the saggy eyed jock pulled out my name in last years end of season Supporters Club raffle resulting in me getting a free season ticket for the 2009/10 season!

4th - Hart 2001-2003, play-offs, decent attacking football and young talented starlets like JJ, Reid, Dawson and Harewood, plus the chance to see Des pull on the mighty Garibaldi once again.

The memories of the Clough years are almost memories of memories now if you know what I mean.

I'm excited because this is so unexpected and not just a lofty league position, but real quality football and regular demolition of opponents.

This is the most excited I have been for years. :)

For me being 21, without a doubt this season is the best...Harts Play off season was amazing, but other than that i've been too young to remember the good times, and ahd to put up with the state of the club for the past 10 years, and as someone said, success is sweeter now, although like Billy would point out theres still half a season to go.

These are exciting times, What is happening before our very eyes makes me proud to be a Forest Fan.

Of Course Im excited :)

My thoughts exactly. Last night was a 'sit up and take notice' kind of statement. And what a goal from Raddy...

Agree with that although watching the young cloughie team develop with a young desmond and pearce turning into established internationals was a fantastic time - i'd rate it equally to Franky Clark's team which played stunning football, happy days

Last night we looked like the home side, and the fans made us sound like it for most of the game.

In terms of how we compare, yes... the same order as afore mentioned, but I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't go on to make it 43 unbeaten, win the Prem, and bag a couple of European Cups along the way... >;-)

These are lads coming into their own, the gaffer is excellent and knows what he needs and how to play teams. That is what we have missed for a long long time. I honestly didn't think I would see Perch in a Forest shirt again, but he came on and tried his best as the make shift holding mid.

I just want to live to see the new stadium built now... Back in the top flight with the gound to match.

its definitely more of a buzz than our last promotion year from the championship under ol' 'Arry Bassett back in '99....which was a good time but nowhere like this, i think the average age of that team was about 40 with Dave Beasant in goal, i sense there's something special about the way this team now is developing. :)
