I think it takes a lot of behind the scenes skull duggery to get players signed particularly if the other club aren't keen to sell. It also appears Forest like announcing things in bulk. Lets hope so anyway.

It's guess work. We all know our targets, nothing is stopping any one of us starting a thread saying "x player signs today/tomorrow" and then it's pot luck as to whether the deal is completed.

People have been saying so and so has signed every other day for the last 2/3 weeks.

Well I still have a good feeling about Whittingham today. I am not so confident about Pratley though as I would have thought OTT or Red Widow would have called it.

If the spree happens, it really does point to the pre season training exercises as being less important than some followers elevate them to be.

Let's not be so pessimistic Puds. So what if we don't make any more signings? Enjoy the feel good factor and positive speculation whilst we have it to enjoy.

At least this will hopefully put an end to the constant "does he play left back?" replies people have been putting on here for months. :)

I dont wanna go to work this afternoon, i just pray Whitts is all done n dusted by the time i get home, cant see Pratley going thro, according to the web n papers he is due to sign a new contract with Swansea.
What are other peoples thoughts on Callum davenport?

I'm also confident about whittingham, not so much about pratley, but to be honest if we got whittingham and davenport and the fin signed I'd be happy with the squad.

I personally think that he's a good footballer, or was, you cant lose talent over night, and whatever happened in his private life shouldn't effect peoples judgement on the pitch, not like he got drunk and drove his car into someone.

Good addition to the squad for no fee.

I'm sorry SML. I enjoy a bit of transfer gossip as much as anyone. But TBH I'm a tad sick of it this pre season and am looking for more in the line of players actually pictured in forest shirts.

Then I suggest you visit the transfer section of the forum less often, don't read any newspapers, avoid all forest fans and rely solely on the official website for news. Unfortunately speculation is part of the fun, it is when it becomes negative as it has done on here recently that I get disappointed... and that is all caused by "cup half empty" fans.

I think Whitts is a must and looks very likely, everything seems to point in the direction of him coming, I hope.

Davenport would be an excellent signing, experienced and capable Premier League defender, if we signed him it would be really good business, any other signing would just be pure luxury as I think our current squad + Whittingham and Davenport would be enough to clinch atleast 1st or 2nd.
