On 27 August 2008 Boruc, along with his national team mates Dariusz Dudka and Radosław Majewski, was suspended from the team for breaching a curfew after Poland's loss in a friendly against Ukraine, a game in which Boruc had not played.[7] PZPN President Michał Listkiewicz stated that Boruc was not involved in the damage to a hotel room.[8] Having served a two-match suspension, Boruc returned to Poland's starting line-up for the World Cup qualifying match against the Czech Republic on 11 October.[9]

ARTUR BORUC was last night sensationally suspended by Poland boss Leo Beenhakker after allegations of late-night misbehaviour.

The Celtic keeper was axed by his national coach along with international team-mates Dariusz Dudka and Radoslaw Majewski after a day of drama.

The move came following revelations of misconduct in the aftermath of their country's midweek friendly against Ukraine in Lvov.

Polish TV channels reported that Boruc, Dudka and Majewski had left the team hotel and gone for a night out after the 1-0 friendly defeat. Boruc hadn't played in the match but Beenhakker told all his players they couldn't leave the hotel.

However, the three were believed to have spent several hours socialising with a group that included members of the Polish press.

Yesterday morning Polish FA spokesman Zbigniew Kozminski is understood to have confided to reporters before the team flight back to Warsaw that the trio would be banned for two matches, next month's World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and San Marino.

Frantic conversations are then believed to have taken place among Polish officials.

And by late afternoon FA chairman Michal Listkiewicz had issued a short statement playing down any incident by saying, "They are not disqualified".

However, as the news filtered out last night Beenhakker, who had earlier offered no comment when quizzed at the airport, went on national TV to confirm that the trio were out of his immediate plans due to their inappropriate behaviour.

Beenhakker said: "It is my decision. I have thought about it and decided to rule them out."

Boruc, 28, was spotted deep in conversation with Beenhakker before they boarded the plane back from Ukraine yesterday afternoon .

The Celtic star is a national hero in his homeland and has earned 37 caps.

Sure, disciplining them was the right thing to do, but I'm not sure they're not good enough to discount decent players out of their squad for a prolonged period of time.

they're not exactly murderers and rapists are they. When he came across it sounded like he had been involved in a serious problem.

As long as his feet do the talking that's all that matters to me !
