Is Perch On His Way?

PSR

Love him or hate him, Forest defender/midfielder James Perch, is in demand and is the subject of a possible move away from the City Ground.

Former boss Paul Hart, now works as caretaker manager with Prem boys Portsmouth and he's a great admirer of Perch. Hart is credited with developing the careers of many a young talent, with Perch being one of many to benefit from their time at the Forest Academy together.

Message board rumours surfaced last week, about a million pound bid coming in for the 23 year old from Pompey, but it was rejected by the club. Bite their bloody arms off! was the shouts from some fans, but it appears Perchio has great admirers amongst the coaching staff at Forest.

Paul Hart, despite the current uncertainty over his own future, wasn't put off by Billy's refusal to sell and upped his first offer of a million quid, in the hope of landing his former pupil. Once again though, Billy told him where to go. Davies was having none of it and has other plans for Perchio.

Perch has been used in just about every position at one time or another and according to some people, isn't very good in any. But. Davies apparently sees him as a Centre Half and has been impressed with his performances on the training pitch. The rest of the coaching staff at the club are agreed that this is his best position and see him as a shoe in for the role.

Because Forest are becoming increasingly frustrated and impatient with Doncaster and their playing hardball over the Mills affair, they've turned their attentions to Elliott Ward at Coventry and Zak Whitbread at Millwall. It could be that Forest are usining these two targets to put pressure on Donny, but it could be that they have had to lower their sights. Either way, it seems we will get at least one new Centre Half and it could be two, if Perch fills the role.

I don't think it likely unless we secure one or two of the defenders we're linked with.

I also find it flabbergasting to contemplate that anyone would pay £1m or more for Perchinho, and I'm a fan of his unlike many fans.

Probably won't even be a regular starter next year so I'm amazed a premiership side is in for him(though admittedly a term used loosely for Portsmouth right now)

The problem being that any items taken from other sites are usually accredited to them. You'd be pissed if someone posted an article you had written that looked as if they had written it.

Calm down ffs !

You're very touchy this evening... it is good etiquette to cite a source for stuff that's copied directly - you're quite right there's nowt wrong with it, but at least including a link or a comment about where it's from would be what I'd consider best practice.

No I wouldn't, I copied and pasted on this forum cos' no one had done it.

I very rarely C&P anything, every forum I've visited there are posts that's done the rounds so what makes this any different?

If I C&P anything I will generally put the link up, I was getting at T10_Red for being a complete prat - there was nothing in his post other than trying to be clever and sarcastic.

I usually do like I've already stated but I don't know how I forgot it this time around - I'll go back and edit it if it makes everyone happy. :nowink:

Fine, you might not but someone else might. And T10 posted that because it was wasn't it. And it looked like you had written it yourself !

I doubt you will find many articles here without being accredited to the author / paper !

Bad fir-king day mate.

Battery went down on me out on the East Coast today - only place that had the battery for my car was Halfords who charged me £100.

Got home and checked on prices here and a top of the range (Bosch) was only £45:50 with 4 year guarantee. A 3 year guarantee one would have cost £33:50.

That's why I'm p!ssed.

Not called Halfrauds for nothing. I detest ever visiting there. It's usually only the boy racers willing to pay 300 quid for a sticker that do. Unfortunately, like you I once had to get a battery from the robbing ***** !

I've actually got "Green Flag" home recovery breakdown - had I thought about it I could have had them stick it on a pick-up and let them bring me home.

I'm a huge fan of Perch personally, and I'd be sad to see him go, but I can't help notice that his presence in the side has coincided with us slipping down the leagues.

He's a defender plain and simple, and a decent one at that, but for him to have played that many games in midfield for us is an absolute crime frankly.

That was Clueless Calderwood for you.

Well yes.

It was good enough to get us up though so I've still got a lot of time for Col. I never agreed with Perch playing in there though, certainly not at Championship level.

This is one of the things that endeared Billy to me pretty quickly. The way he played Sinclair once and immediately realised he was nothing like good enough for us and sent him packing on loan. Calderwood was here for over 2 years and he still didn't realise Sinclair wasn't good enough.
