now then fellas, i am travelling down tomorrow from Newcastle, i must admit i don't fancy the drive (285 miles each way)... does anyone know if there is any major road works i should try and avoid...the A1 sucks, scotch corner, wetherby, M1 outside of Nottingham J26,J27....all have speed check areas.. thanks in advance for any help

A1 every day of the week, you can catch the A14 or A120 which will get you close to Ipswich
